Verse 1 – As I mentioned, this verse begins in a similar fashion to Lev. 1:1 = wayyiqra = “and He called out” but here we see, spoken of Mosheh, wayyilek = “And he went (walked) out”. The primary implication is the Mosheh walked in a manner of life. Today, we would say “he walked in the way” and here is the implied part, “as he had always walked.” Or, “he continued to walk in the way as he walked out.”
The root word for wayyilek is H1980 Halak. When you look at halaq in the pictographic Hebrew it says more:
e = Behold, reveal
l = shepherd’s staff, authority, leadership
k = Open hand, tame subdue, bend, curve
“Behold the Shepherd’s staff in the open hand.”
The next words are “spoke these words” which is H1696 H1697 which is “dabar (H853) (H428 = elleleh = these) debarim”. What would make these words so important that they would be preceeded by a prophetic marker?
Verse 2 – Mosheh says something here that was completely unexpected in Hebrew and you cannot see it in the KJV+, you must see it in Hebrew: בן־מאה ועשׂרים שׁנה
The letters in blue are B and N = ben or son of. The next is the word for 100 and the next is the word for 20 and the next word is shaneh (cycle of time or in this case years) He is saying that he is the son of 120 years. He is not saying that he is an old, decrepid man but rather a son. Look at what it says in Deb. 34:7 Deu 34:7 And Mosheh was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his freshness gone. (His freshness gone meant he could still kick their butts when they got out of line.) Here is what it says in the Brenton translation of the Septuagint: Deu 34:7 And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old at his death; his eyes were not dimmed, nor were his natural powers destroyed.
When he says that “I am no longer able to go out and come in.”
He is not saying that he physically cannot do these things but that YHVH said he “could” not do those things.
Verse 3 – Do you think it was a “coincidence” that Mosheh changed the name of Hoshea to Yehoshua? Num 13:16 These are the names of the men whom Mosheh sent to spy out the land. And Mosheh called Hoshĕa the son of Nun, Yehoshua. I don’t think so. Here are just a few of the verses of scripture where we see YHVH going before us as our shield: Psa_3:3 But You, O יהוה, are a shield for me, My esteem, and the One lifting up my head.
Psa_5:12 For You bless the righteous, O יהוה; You surround him with favour as with a shield.
Psa_7:10 My shield is upon Elohim, Who saves the upright in heart.
Psa_18:2 יהוה is my rock and my stronghold and my deliverer; My Ěl is my rock, I take refuge in Him; My shield and the horn of my deliverance, my high tower.
“And Yehoshua himself is passing over before you, as YHVH has spoken.” Look at this Word picture: YHVH’s Salvation (Himself/Yeshua) is passing over before you.” ((I am leaving the definition as it appears for a specific purpose))
Passing over is H5674 – עבר – ‛âbar

First, I left the definition as it appears in the Brown-Driver-Briggs Lexicon instead of condensing it, as I usually do, for a specific purpose. I have been asked many times how a word can have one meaning one minute and a different meaning another, even in the same verse of scripture. This word is an excellent example of how that can be. The notes in double brackets and in red are just my notes.
Now look at H5680 – עברי – ‛ibrı̂y – BDB Definition: Hebrew = “one from beyond” 1) a designation of the patriarchs and the Israelites (noun proper) 2) a designation of the patriarchs and the Israelites (adjective)
Abraham was called the “first” Hebrew because he crossed the Euphrates River, something he would not have to have done if he really was from the land of Ur of the Chaldees but something he definitely would have to accomplish if he was from Uruk of the Khattis. Is scripture wrong? No! Just our understanding of the ancient world.
I did this to illustrate a point I made about “Yehoshua Himself is passing over before you”. Yes, I understand that this verse of scripture is referring to Joshua son of Nun but, the picture that it provides us is that Yeshua, Son of Elohim, has now crossed over before us: Joh 8:57 The Yehuḏim, therefore, said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Aḇraham?”
Joh 8:58 יהושע said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I am.”
Joh 6:46 “Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from Elohim – He has seen the Father.
Heb 8:1 Now the summary of what we are saying is: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Greatness in the heavens,
Verses 4-5 – Once again reminding us we sometimes battle against giants. 2Co 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not fight according to the flesh.
2Co 10:4 For the weapons we fight with are not fleshly but mighty in Elohim for overthrowing strongholds,
2Co 10:5 overthrowing reasonings and every high matter that exalts itself against the knowledge of Elohim, taking captive every thought to make it obedient to the Messiah,
2Co 10:6 and being ready to punish all disobedience, when your obedience is complete.
Joh 3:36 “He who believes in the Son possesses everlasting life, but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of Elohim remains on him.”
Sometimes, the giants that we battle are simply puffed up egos and/or opinions and not “religious” giants at all.
Verse 6 – 8- “Be strong and courageous,” Strong = H2388 – חָזַק – châzaq – khaw-zak’ : A primitive root; to fasten upon; hence to seize, be strong (figuratively courageous, causatively strengthen, cure, help, repair, fortify), obstinate; to bind, restrain, conquer:
and: H553 – אָמַץ – ‘âmats – aw-mats’ – A primitive root; to be alert, physically (on foot) or mentally (in courage): – confirm, be courageous (of good courage, stedfastly minded, strong, stronger), establish, fortify, harden, increase, prevail, strengthen (self), make strong (obstinate, speed). The full phrase is – ḥizqu ve’imetzu which we see again in: Jos 10:25 Then Yehoshua said to them, “Do not be afraid nor be discouraged, be strong and courageous, for this is what יהוה is going to do to all your enemies whom you are fighting.”
Deu_31:6 “Be strong and courageous, do not fear ((Lo Iyrah)) nor be afraid of them. For it is יהוה your Elohim who is going with you. He does not fail you nor forsake you.”
Deu_31:7 And Mosheh called Yehoshua and said to him before the eyes of all Yisra’ĕl, “Be strong and courageous, for you are going with this people to the land which יהוה has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you are to let them inherit it.
Deu_31:23 And He commanded Yehoshua son of Nun, and said, “Be strong and courageous, for you are to bring the children of Yisra’ĕl into the land of which I swore to them, and I Myself am with you.”
Jos_1:6 “Be strong and courageous, for you are to let this people inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
Jos_1:7 “Only be strong and very courageous, to guard to do according to all the Torah which Mosheh My servant commanded you. Do not turn from it right or left, so that you act wisely wherever you go.
Jos_1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, nor be discouraged, for יהוה your Elohim is with you wherever you go.”
Jos_1:18 “Whoever rebels against your command and does not obey your words, in all that you command him, is put to death. Only be strong and courageous.”
Jos_10:25 Then Yehoshua said to them, “Do not be afraid nor be discouraged, be strong and courageous, for this is what יהוה is going to do to all your enemies whom you are fighting.”
1Ch_28:20 And Dawid said to his son Shelomoh, “Be strong and courageous, and do it. Do not fear nor be afraid, for יהוה Elohim, my Elohim, is with you. He shall not leave you nor forsake you, until you have completed all the work for the service of the House of יהוה.
2Ch_32:7 “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid nor be cast down before the sovereign of Ashshur, nor before all the army that is with him. For with us there are more than with him.
Verse 9 – NO ORAL TORAH – Exo 24:4 And Mosheh wrote down all the Words of יהוה, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve standing columns for the twelve tribes of Yisra’ĕl.
Num 33:2 And Mosheh wrote down the starting points of their departures at the command of יהוה, and these are their departures according to their starting points:
Deu 31:9 And Mosheh wrote this Torah and gave it to the priests, the sons of Lĕwi, who bore the ark of the covenant of יהוה, and to all the elders of Yisra’ĕl.
Deu 31:22 And Mosheh wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the children of Yisra’ĕl.
Forget ORAL TORAH and the Rabbinic Noahide Laws. They are the traditions of men.
Verses 10-13 – These verses of scripture had one of the most profound effects upon me in my entire life once I understood what it was saying. By far, and I want to thank all of you who had some part in it with me, when I realized what YHVH’s time cycle was and how we are responsible for the keeping of it and when we kept the sabbatical year, this was one of the most defining moments in my life. To be blessed and entrusted with His Calendar and with His Timetable and allowed to proclaim it to the entire town was something in my life I cannot explain, even to those of you who were there. Hallelu-Yah!!!
The word for “release” is: H8059 – שְׁמִטָּה – shemiṭṭâh – shem-it-taw’ – From H8058; remission (of debt) or suspension (of labor): – release.
It is only used 5 times in scripture, all of which occur in Debarim: Deb. 15:1, 2(twice), 9 & 31:10. In today’s world the emphasis is forgiving financial obligations, made famous by pastor Jonathan Cahn. But is this what we are supposed to concentrate on?
Mat 6:12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Luk 4:18 “The Spirit of יהוה is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to bring the Good News to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send away crushed ones with a release,
Luk 4:19 to proclaim the acceptable year of יהוה.”
All of you know this parable but have you thought about it in this context?
Mat 18:23 “Because of this the reign of the heavens is like a certain man, a sovereign who wished to settle accounts with his servants.
Mat 18:24 “And when he had begun to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents,
Mat 18:25 but as he was unable to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made.
Mat 18:26 “Then the servant fell down before him, saying, ‘Master, have patience with me, and I shall pay you all.’
Mat 18:27 “And the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.
Mat 18:28 “And that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred pieces of money. And he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’
Mat 18:29 “Then his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I shall pay you all.’
Mat 18:30 “But he would not, and went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt.
Mat 18:31 “And when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were deeply grieved, and came and reported to their master all that had taken place.
Mat 18:32 “Then his master called him and said to him, ‘Wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt seeing you begged me.
Mat 18:33 ‘Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, as I also had compassion on you?’
Mat 18:34 “And his master was wroth, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.
Mat 18:35 “So also My heavenly Father shall do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses.”
Verses 14-15 – Once again we see a beautiful picture being given to us: “Call Yehoshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, so that I command him.” And Mosheh and Yehoshua went and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting.”
Close your eyes and imagine the picture that this verse paints for us: We are before the Tent of Appointment and Mosheh and Yehoshua go before the Tent. Mosheh (Torah) on one side and Yehoshua (Redemption) on the other and suddenly Yeshua is there in a cloud to witness these two testimonies. You cannot come to the Tent without Torah nor without Redemption and the Redeemer Himself was their witness as they stood before the Tent of Appointment and the congregation.
Heb 5:9 And having been perfected, He became the Causer of everlasting deliverance to all those obeying Him,
Heb 12:2 looking to the Princely Leader and Perfecter of our belief, יהושע, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the stake, having despised the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of Elohim.
Beautiful!
Verse 16 – “You are going to die and they are going to whore after other gods.” We see this over and over in scripture where the Children of Yisra”el turn their backs on YHVH. Two words are used to make up “break” as in break My covenant. The first is: H6565 – פָּרַר – pârar – paw-rar’ – A primitive root; to break up (usually figuratively, that is, to violate, frustrate): – X any ways, break (asunder), cast off, cause to cease, X clean, defeat, disannul, disappoint, dissolve, divide, make of none effect, fail, frustrate, bring (come) to nought, X utterly, make void.
And, the second word is (H853). Psa 50:16 But to the wrong Elohim said, “What right have you to recite My laws, Or take My covenant in your mouth,
Psa 50:17 “While you hated instruction And cast My Words behind you?
Pro 28:9 He who turns away his ear from hearing the Torah, Even his prayer is an abomination.
Verses 17-18 – His displeasure is poured out in His Day of Wrath (Book of Revelation).
Isa 54:8 “In an overflow of wrath I hid My face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I shall have compassion on you,” said יהוה, your Redeemer.
Remember, His Eyes are upon the righteous, not the unrighteous: Psa 34:15 The eyes of יהוה are on the righteous, And His ears unto their cry.
Psa 34:16 The face of יהוה is against evil-doers, To cut off their remembrance from the earth.
1Pe 3:12 “Because the eyes of יהוה are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers, but the face of יהוה is against those who do evil.”
Verses 19-22 – “Write down this song and teach it to the children of Yisra’el” (Chapter 32). What is so important about ths song? Only a special group will be able to sing it. Rev 15:2 And I saw like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those overcoming the beast and his image and his mark and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of Elohim.
Rev 15:3 And they sing the song of Mosheh the servant of Elohim, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvellous are Your works, יהוה Ěl Shaddai! Righteous and true are Your ways, O Sovereign of the set-apart ones!
Special Note on verse 21 – “I know their thoughts”: H3336 – יֵצֶר – yêtser – yay’-tser – From H3335; a form; figuratively conception (that is, purpose): – frame, thing framed, imagination, mind, work.
Have we seen this word before? Yes! Gen 6:5 And יהוה saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
In Genesis 6:5 it is translated as inclination. Look at Deb. 31:21 and you will see that they were even thinking those thoughts at the very time YHVH is instructing Mosheh.
Verse 23 – YHVH Himself tells Yehoshua to “Be Strong and Courageous” and “I Myself am with you”.

Verses 24-26 – Try to imagine the word pictures we are being given: Moshe has completed the Book of Torah and he places beside the Ark of the Covenant. Remember what the Ark represents: YHVH’s Chariot ((also called the Chariot of Yisra’el)) 1Ch 28:18 and refined gold by weight for the altar of incense, and for the pattern of the chariot of the gold keruḥim, spreading out their wings and covering over the ark of the covenant of יהוה.
2Ki 2:11 And it came to be, as they continued on and spoke, that see, a chariot of fire with horses of fire which separated the two of them. And Ěliyahu went up by a whirlwind into the heavens.
2Ki 2:12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, “My father, my father, the chariot of Yisra’ĕl and its horsemen!” And he saw him no more. Then he took hold of his own garments and tore them into two pieces.
Mat 26:64 יהושע said to him, “You have said it. Besides I say to you, from now you shall see the Son of Aḏam sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of the heaven.”
Yeshua is seated beside YHVH, on the right hand (side). The Torah is placed beside the Chariot of YHVH, want to guess which side it was on?
Eze 1:4 And I looked and saw a whirlwind coming out of the north, a great cloud with fire flashing itself. And brightness was all around it, and out of its midst like glowing metal, out of the midst of the fire,
Eze 2:9 And I looked and saw a hand stretched out to me. And see, a scroll of a book was in it,
Eze 2:10 and He spread it before me, and it was written on the inside and on the outside. And written on it were lamentations and mourning and woe.
Eze 3:1 And He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find, eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Yisra’ĕl.”
Eze 3:2 And I opened my mouth, and He fed me the scroll.
Eze 3:3 And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your stomach, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I am giving you.” And I ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth.
Rev 10:8 And the voice which I heard out of the heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the little book which is opened in the hand of the messenger standing on the sea and on the earth.”
Rev 10:9 And I went to the messenger and said to him, “Give me the little book.” And he said to me, “Take and eat it, and it shall make your stomach bitter, but it shall be as sweet as honey in your mouth.”
Rev 10:10 And I took the little book out of the messenger’s hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter.
Why is beside underlined and in bold? That is the other picture He is giving us. The word for beside is:
H6654 – צַד – tsad – tsad
Contracted from an unused root meaning to sidle off; a side; figuratively an adversary: – (be-) side.
Gen 6:16 “Make a window for the ark, and complete it to a cubit from above. And set the door of the ark in its side. Make it with lower, second, and third decks.
The word for side is tsad. What is the big deal? Who was the only one who could open or close the door? Joh 10:7 יהושע therefore said to them again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
Joh 10:8 “All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.
Joh 10:9 “I am the door. Whoever enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and shall go out and find pasture.
Yeshua is Torah on the right hand of the Power. He is the judgement (Rev. 19:15) and He is the Door.

Sometimes it does not strike us, or come to us, how insulated/protected we have been or, at least I don’t.
Why? I’m not sure, to tell you the truth but, when things are written down we don’t have the “emotional” cues or clues involved in the telling. Have you ever heard someone read an exciting book, chapter, verse with a droning monotone voice with not emotion whatso ever and then have the same book, chapter, verse read by someone with an emotionally charged voice? Suddenly, the whole thing becomes more exciting because, in English, we require emotion to be able to get the full import of the book, chapter or verse. However, many languages are not like that, in fact, most Asian languages require you to use tones or tonal qualities in order to accurately convey the word, so you can ask a question by changing the tone of your voice or, you can accuse someone of somethig by lowerin your voice and adding force to it like you would in English. This would change the meaning of the word. Luckily for us Smeitic languages are Asian languages and maintain the intensity with which they were written.
Let’s look at Verse 1 – וַיֵּלֶךְ – Vayyelek – The root word here is H1980 – Halak – to walk, to go , to walk in a way or manner of life. All this comes from Yalak – to go, to walk, to proceed, to carry (as in a burden) – H3212 – and it is written in the “qal active tense” so, now we have an emotion that will convey additional meaning in this word construct. Remember, in all dialects of Arabic and in Aramaic you have a “noun” in construct but in Hebrew your verb is the word in contruct upon which your sentence will be built. Hebrew is a language built upon ACTION so, the verbs come first in the sentence and set the tone and pace for the rest of the sentence: Mary – went – to – the – store. (English) She went (in the way, by herself) – Mary – to – the – store. (Hebrew).
She went (in the way, by herself, carrying a burden) – Mary – to – the store. (Hebrew qal active tense).
She went (in the way, by herself, carrying a burden – to – (H853) – the – store. (Hebrew qal active tense with את – (H853))
H853 is the Alef Tav. Ring a bell? Rev 1:8 “I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, Beginning and End,” says יהוה “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Joh_14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Now, let’s look at Verse 1: He went (in the way, by himself/alone, carrying a burden) Mosheh – to – speak (dabar) – (the Truth) in these words (debarim) – to – all – Yisra’el. (Hebrew)
Now, for the English: Mosheh went alone, in the way, carrying the burden of the Truth of these words, to speak to the Children of Yisra’el.
Can you see how much we gain from the Hebrew that is not conveyed in the English because we are waiting for the tonality of Mosheh’s voice to convey additional meaning to us but, right here in Verse 1, almost 4,000 years after it was spoken, we have the meaning still speaking to us because of the depth and emotion conveyed by the Hebrew language, that English lacks.
Yes, my OCD kicked in but I wanted you to see the beauty of Hebrew. (You should look at Halak using paleo-Hebrew and it is even more exciting.)
Okay, you might say: “Mosheh was 120 years old. He was an old man so, he went slowly because he was tired and going and speaking was a burden in and of itself.” Really? Deu 34:7 And Mosheh was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his freshness gone.
Mosheh could still kick butt and take names. He was still the same strong vibrant man that had killed the Egyptian task master, the same man that had herded sheep in the mountains of northern Saudi Arabia. He was still the same strong man, who as general of the army of Pharaoh, had laid siege to the capital city of Kush (Saba), where he married his first wife: Num_12:1 Now Miryam and Aharon spoke against Mosheh because of the Kushite woman whom he had taken, for he had taken a Kushite woman.(Tharbis was her name. Ant. Of the Jews Book II, Chap. X, Para. 2.)
Verse 2 – This is fantastic in Hebrew, if you look at it in Hebrew/Aramaic you will see Mosheh refer to himself as the “son” of 120 years old “Ben/Bar” (Some versions have ben (Hebrew) and others have bar (Aramaic.) He refers to himself as a “son” (in service to his Father יהוה , ring a bell?) I know, I know, now you say, “See, there is evidence that he is old and tired because he admits he can’t go out or come in.” No. He tells you why he can go no farther: And יהוה has said to me, ‘You do not pass over this Yarděn.’ He was not permitted to go any farther.
40 + 40 + 40 = 120
- 40 years in Egypt (I can relate to this.)
- 40 years herding sheep in Midyan learning who the True Father was (but not this)
- 40 years leading a set-apart people to their inheritance
How many of you have ever had to go to a tutor/trainer? You may have been behind in a subject or needed extra training in order for a particular concept to really stick. Now, if you have gone to a tutor/trainer for specialized, one on one, instruction, did you forget all of it after you left that tutor or do you still remember it to this day? Gal 3:24 Therefore the Torah became our trainer unto Messiah, in order to be declared right by belief. Still think Torah doesn’t matter?
So Torah leads, oops sorry, I meant to say Mosheh, leads the people right up to the Promised Land but, he has to stop at the Jordan (Yarden) River and by faith, the people will have to follow a man named Yehoshua (Joshua) and physically cross the river to enter into the Promised Land.
H3091 – יהושׁע / יהושׁוּע – yehôshûa‛ – BDB Definition: Joshua or Jehoshua = “Jehovah is salvation”
Joshua’s name in Hebrew is Yehoshua and Jesus’s name in Hebrew is Yehoshua so, why is it Joshua in the “Old” Testament and Jesus in the “New”? So you want make the connection and fall for the lie. What lie? That Torah was done away with. If you don’t know Torah you won’t see that Yehoshua is Yehovah’s Salvation not Jesus’ salvation: 2Sa_22:3 “My Elohim is my rock, I take refuge in Him, My shield and the horn of my deliverance, My high tower and my refuge. My Saviour, You save me from violence.
Isa_43:3 “For I am יהוה your Elohim, the Set-apart One of Yisra’ěl, your Saviour; I gave Mitsrayim for your ransom, Kush and Seḇa in your place.
Isa_45:21 “Declare and bring near, let them even take counsel together. Who has announced this from of old? Who has declared it from that time? Is it not I, יהוה? And there is no mighty one besides Me, a righteous Ěl and a Saviour, there is none besides Me.
Isa_49:26 “And I shall feed those who oppress you with their own flesh, and let them drink their own blood as sweet wine. All flesh shall know that I, יהוה, am your Saviour, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Ya‛aqoḇ.”
Do you see the lie?
Verse 3 – YHVH is passing over before us. YHVH lead the way. Think about this. He is our Saviour and he is “passing over” before us. Passing over is ‘abar – H5674 and before is H6440 – pawniym – Face. So, right in front of our face He is passing over before us, and we still can’t see it.
Rom_1:4 who was designated Son of Elohim with power, according to the Set-apart Spirit, by the resurrection from the dead: יהושע Messiah, the Master of us,
Rom_4:24 but also because of us, to whom it shall be reckoned, to us who believe in Him who raised up יהושע our Master from the dead,
1Co_15:12 And if Messiah is proclaimed that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
1Co_15:13 And if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Messiah has not been raised.
1Co_15:20 But now Messiah has been raised from the dead, and has become the first-fruit of those having fallen asleep.
YHVH is going over before you to destroy (shamad – H8045 – to annihilate, exterminate, devastate.) (H853 – את). Get it? Yehôshûa is going over before us, to destroy all those that don’t keep Mosheh/Torah and show us how to cross over the mayyim chayyim into the “New” world, the Promised Land: Rev 14:12 Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of Elohim and the belief of יהושע.
Verses 4-5 – Sihon and Og. Giants. Can, or do, we let giants keep us out of the Promised Land? What about Billy Graham, W.A. Criswell, D.L. Moody, John Calvin, John Wesley, or any other giant of a particular faith or flavor. How many are there? Some say 33,000 and others say 44,000. Babylon has a lot of daughters to entice us, seduce us, to keep us from the Truth. Torah leads us to the Messiah, Yehoshua, and He shows us how to cross over.
Verse 6 – חִזְּק֣וּ וְְּאִמְּצ֔וּ – ḥizqu ve’imetzu – There is a huge message in this verse and I will try to be succinct but that is not my strong suit (Oops, sorry about the pun.) H2388 – חזק – châzaq – to strengthen, prevail, to harden, to be resolute. Where else do we see this phrase? Jos 10:25 Then Yehoshua said to them, “Do not be afraid nor be discouraged, be strong and courageous, for this is what יהוה is going to do to all your enemies whom you are fighting.”
H553 – אמץ – ‘âmats – 1) to be strong, alert, courageous, brave, stout, bold, solid,
Both of these words come with the understanding of “to make up your mind”, “to be fully awake” “to be alert, resolute, firm in your commitment”.
How do we become strong and courageous, firm, resolute? In Torah. Torah leads us to the Messiah, Yehoshua, and then He shows us how to cross over and you can only cross over using the example of Messiah, keeping and doing Torah. Get rid of the dogmas and traditions of religion and follow the example of Yehoshua: 1Pe_2:21 For to this you were called, because Messiah also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps,
Verse 9 – NO ORAL TORAH!!!
Verse 10-13 – Many of us did this very thing in 2016 at Sukkot.
Verses 14-15 – Look at the beauty in these verses. Mosheh and Yehoshua are told to present themselves , in the Tent of Appointment, with everyone looking on. This is exactly as it should be Mosheh/Torah standing side by side with Yehoshua/Messiah: Rev_12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Elohim and possessing the witness of יהושע Messiah.
Rev_14:12 Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of Elohim and the belief of יהושע.
Rev_22:14 “Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city.
Verse 16 – I would be remiss in my responsibility if I did not point out this one point: break (H853) covenant: H6565 – פּרר – pârar – BDB Definition: to break, frustrate, violate, to make ineffectual
Who said Torah was done away with?
Verses 17-18 – He will hide His Face from His people because of their sin. We all know from Wayyiqra 26 what happens next.
Verses 19-22 – Write down this song: Chapter 32. When the stinky stuff hits the fan, you WILL remember this song (A renewed song?) Rev_5:9 And they sang a renewed song, saying, “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals, because You were slain, and have redeemed us to Elohim by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
Rev_14:3 And they sang a renewed song before the throne, and before the four living creatures, and the elders. And no one was able to learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth.
Verses 24-26 – Place it beside the ark of the covenant: this is a beautiful picture of Yeshu’a beside the Throne of YHVH as Judge. He (The Word) will be a witness against us or an advocate for us.
Verses 27-29 – YHVH already knows we will breeak His Covenant and the Words of His Torah but with the Messiah, as our High Priest and Intecessor, to whom we repent we will be shown how to cross over.
