Bemidbar (Numbers) 33

Lesson date:2/25/5854

Departures = מַסְעֵי “masei/masey” meaning, ‘departures, stages, journeys’, and comes from the root word מַסַע massa – Strong’s H4550 which means, ‘a pulling up, breaking (camp), setting out, a journey, order of march’ and this comes from the primitive root נָסַע nasa – Strong’s H5265 meaning, ‘to pull out or up, set out on a journey, departed’. The connotation for the usage of this verb is to pull up the stakes of the tents to depart. The popular phrase in the American Civil War was “strike the tents”, which was also some of the last words uttered by Robert E. Lee. This word brings to mind another word seen often in scripture ‘sojourner’. We are just sojourners in this world and should not be a part of it.
What is the importance of picking up or pulling up stakes? Mat_10:38 “And he who does not take up his stake and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
Mat_16:24 Then יהושע said to His taught ones, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake, and follow Me.
Mar_8:34 And calling near the crowd with His taught ones, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake, and follow Me.
Mar_10:21 And יהושע, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One matter you lack: Go, sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven. And come, follow Me, taking up the stake.”
Luk_9:23 And He said to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake daily, and follow Me.
Luk_14:27 “And whoever does not bear his stake and come after Me is unable to be My taught one.

And the Hebrew word for Soujourner= H8453 תּשׁב / תּושׁב sojourner, stranger

People say that there is no provision for us in the ‘Old’ Testament but there is and we see it over and over: Here are a few examples: Exo 12:19 ‘For seven days no leaven is to be found in your houses, for if anyone eats what is leavened, that same being shall be cut off from the congregation of Yisra’ĕl, whether sojourner or native of the land.
Exo 12:49 “There is one Torah for the native-bxorn and for the stranger who sojourns among you.”
Exo 20:9 “Six days you labour, and shall do all your work,
Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath1 of יהוה your Elohim. You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
Exo 23:9 “And do not oppress a sojourner, as you yourselves know the heart of a sojourner, because you were sojourners in the land of Mitsrayim.
Lev 19:34 ‘Let the stranger who dwells among you be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself. For you were strangers in the land of Mitsrayim. I am יהוה your Elohim.
Lev 24:22 ‘You are to have one right-ruling, for the stranger and for the native, for I am יהוה your Elohim.’ ”
Num 9:14 ‘And when a stranger sojourns among you, then he shall perform the Passover of יהוה. He shall do so according to the law of the Passover and according to its right-ruling. You have one law, both for the stranger and the native of the land.’ ”
Num 15:16 ‘One Torah and one right-ruling is for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you.’ ”
Deu 10:18 “He executes right-ruling for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger, giving him food and a garment.
‘We’ were mentioned over 60 times in Torah and provided for, to be treated fairly and the same as a native born Yisraelite. Let’s see how Sha’ul viewed this amazing ‘chesed’, grace: Gal 3:27 For as many of you as were immersed into Messiah have put on Messiah.
Gal 3:28 There is not Yehuḏite nor Greek, there is not slave nor free, there is not male and female, for you are all one in Messiah יהושע.
Gal 3:29 And if you are of Messiah, then you are seed of Abraham, and heirs according to promise.
And, look how we were provided for once again by Moshe: Deu 29:14 “And not with you alone I am making this covenant and this oath,
Deu 29:15 but with him who stands here with us today before יהוה our Elohim, as well as with him who is not here with us today.
We were not there that day but we were provided for.

By their divisions’ is לְְצִבְאֹתָם – “letsoḇeotam’ which comes from the root word צָבָא tsaḇa – Strong’s H6633 meaning, ‘army, war, warfare, to wage war, serve, perform’.

What is the significance of the phrase “under the hand of Mosheh and Aharon”? Mat_19:7 They said to Him, “Why then did Mosheh command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?”
Mat_19:8 He said to them, “Because of the hardness of your hearts, Mosheh allowed you to put away your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.
Mat_22:24 saying, “Teacher, Mosheh said that if anyone should die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise offspring for his brother.
Mar_12:26 “And concerning the dead, that they rise – have you not read in the book of Mosheh, at the bush, how Elohim spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the Elohim of Aḇraham, and the Elohim of Yitsḥaq, and the Elohim of Yaʽaqoḇ’?
Luk_2:22 And when the days of her cleansing according to the Torah of Mosheh were completed, they brought Him to Yerushalayim to present Him to יהוה –
Act_15:21 “For from ancient generations Mosheh has, in every city, those proclaiming him – being read in the congregations every Sabbath.”
Mosheh is synonymous with the Torah and is used that way in the B’rit Hadasha over 50 times. But what about Aharon? He was the first High Priest after the covenant was given at Mt. Sinai and represents our Messiah as High Priest: Heb_2:17 So in every way He had to be made like His brothers, in order to become a compassionate and trustworthy High Priest in matters related to Elohim, to make atonement for the sins of the people.
Heb_3:1 Therefore, set-apart brothers, partakers of the heavenly calling, closely consider the Emissary and High Priest of our confession, Messiah יהושע,
Heb_4:14 Therefore, since we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, יהושע the Son of Elohim, let us hold fast our confession.
Heb_4:15 For we do not have a High Priest unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was tried in all respects as we are, apart from sin.
Heb 5:9 And having been perfected, He became the Causer of everlasting deliverance to all those obeying Him,
Heb 5:10 having been designated by Elohim a High Priest “according to the order of Malkitseḏeq,”
Heb 6:20 where יהושע has entered as a forerunner for us, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Malkitseḏeq.
Heb_7:26 For it was fitting that we should have such a High Priest – kind, innocent, undefiled, having been separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens,
Heb_8:1 Now the summary of what we are saying is: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Greatness in the heavens,
Heb_9:11 But Messiah, having become a High Priest of the coming good matters, through the greater and more perfect Tent not made with hands, that is, not of this creation,
Under the hand of Mosheh and Aharon represents being under Torah AND the Messiah, not apart from each other.

There are 42 starting points in this chapter. Let’s look at them:

0 – Raʽmeses:
The first starting point – point ‘zero’ רַעְמְסֵס Ra’meses Strong’s H7486 which means “child of the sun”
We were like the Children of Yisrael. We had no knowledge of the ‘God’ of our fathers, did not know His Name and did not even know that it was a sin to hide or obscure his Name. So, we began our journey at Ramses, as children of sun, worshipping on the day of the sun instead of Yah’s Holy Day, Lev 23:1-3). So where so we see this 42-step “coming out of Babylon/Egypt? Ḥazon/Revelation 12:1-6 “And a great sign was seen in the heaven: a woman clad with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. 2 And being pregnant, she cried out in labour and in pain to give birth. 3 And another sign was seen in the heaven: and see, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns on his heads. 4 And his tail draws a third of the stars of the heaven and throws them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, to devour her child as soon as it was born. 5 And she bore a male child who was to shepherd all nations with a rod of iron. And her child was caught away to Elohim and to His throne. 6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by Elohim, to be nourished there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.”

1 – Sukkoth

This first ‘stop’ in the wilderness journey is called סֻכְֹת Sukkoth – Strong’s H5523 which means “booths” and this simply means “temporary dwelling”. This serves to remind us that we are just sojourners in this world and not part of it.

2 – Ětham
This stop – אֵתָם Ětham Strong’s H864 means, “with them or their ploughshare” – and in understanding the meaning of ‘with them’. We see in Revelation 12:9: Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was thrown out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who leads all the world astray. He was thrown to the earth, and his messengers were thrown out with him.

3 – Pi Haḥiroth
This stop – פִי הְַחִירֹת – Strong’s H6367 means, “place where sedge grows” – the פִי ‘Pi’ or ‘pey’ means ‘mouth’ and הַחִירֹת Haḥiroth means ‘wrath’.
The Devil was enraged that he had been thrown out of Heaven so, in his ‘wrath’ he…:Rev 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Elohim and possessing the witness of יהושע Messiah. Who did he attack? Those keeping the commands of Elohim and the testimony of Yeshua Messiah, us.

4 – Marah
This stop – מָרָה MarahStrong’s H4785 means, “bitter”.
Rev 8:10 And the third messenger sounded, and a great star fell from the heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the fountains of water,
Rev 8:11 and the name of the star is called Wormwood. And a third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.
Many impossible challenges are still ahead of us at this point but we must cling to the mayyim chayyim – Living Water, Yeshua.

5 – Ělim
The Hebrew word – אֵילִם ĚlimStrong’s H362 means, “palms”. It can also mean ‘righteous men’ or strength as in ‘rams’.
We have talked about the idea of ‘righteous men. You must have 10 righteous men to have a quorum. Gen 18:32 And he said, “Let not יהוה be displeased, and let me speak only this time: Suppose there are found ten?” And He said, “I would not destroy it for the sake of ten.”
Had there been 10 righteous men in Sodom it would not have been destroyed. But, that is also the reason that Abraham did not ask about 9 or less. Rev 7:14 And I said to him, “Master, you know.” And he said to me, “These are those coming out of the great distress, having washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

6 – Sea of Reeds
This Hebrew term/place is written as – יַם־סוּף – ‘yam-suph’ which is made up of the two words:1) יַם – ‘yam’Strong’s H3220 which means, ‘sea’ & 2) סוּף – ‘suph’ Strong’s H5488 which means, ‘reeds, rushes’; and in its primitive root form (Strong’s H5486) it can also mean, ‘to be fulfilled, to come to an end, cease’. The sea of the coming end!
Rev 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures, covered with eyes in front and in back.
Rev_15:2 And I saw like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those overcoming the beast and his image and his mark and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of Elohim.

7 – Wilderness of Sin
The Hebrew word for wilderness is מִדְבָר ‘miḏbâr’ – Strong’s H4057 which means, ‘wilderness/pasture/uninhabited land’ & סִין ‘sı̂yn’Strong’s H5512 means, “thorn” or “clay”.
Remember that the word Sin here actually was the name of the Moon god. Remember too, that it was into the wilderness that YHVH brought the children to test them and train them until they were ready for the challenges that they had to face in the future. It is also where Yeshua went to prepare for His ministry and was tested by Satan.
Rev_12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by Elohim, to be nourished there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
Rev_12:14 And the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, to fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.

8 – Dophqah
The Hebrew word דָפְקָה Dophqah Strong’s H1850 means, “knocking” or ‘knock at the door’.
Rev_3:20 “See, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I shall come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

9 – Alush
Alushאָלוּש Strong’s H442 means, “I will knead (bread)”.
This has special meaning to us today because we are in the 35th day of counting the Omer. We are 15 days away from Shavuot where the ‘wheat'(that’s us) will be harvested and ground and kneaded into bread. It is the day of Pentecost in the church. The Greeks didn’t understand why the Children of Yisrael counted 50 days so they just called the day ’50’.

10 – Rephiḏim
Rephiḏimרְפִידִים Strong’s H7508 means, “rests/stays or resting places”. This can also mean ‘support’ or ‘spread them’ as in ‘spreading the hands’.
Three major events took place at this stop: 1) Mosheh spread his arms and struck the rock; 2) Mosheh raised his arms and spread them in the battle against Amaleq; 3) and Mosheh is confronted by his father-in-law Re’ul (Yithro) about the difficulty of governing the Children of Yisrael by himself. He was exhausted or in Hebrew ‘his hands hung down’.
Iḇ’rim/Hebrews 12:12 “So, strengthen the hands which hang down and the weak knees.”
Rev_6:11 And there was given to each one a white robe, and they were told that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brothers, who would be killed as they were, was completed.

11- Wilderness of Sinai
Wilderness of Sinaiמִדְבָר ‘miḏbâr’Strong’s H4057 means, ‘wilderness/pasture/uninhabited land’ & סִינַי Sinai Strong’s H5514 means, “thorny”.
Once again we see the wilderness and we need to understand the the word wilderness actually comes from the root word debar which means word. The Children of Yisael went into the wilderness to find the Word. Rev_12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by Elohim, to be nourished there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

12 – Qiḇroth Hatta’awah
Qiḇroth Hatta’awah – קִבְרוֹת הְַתַאֲוָהStrong’s H6914 means, “graves of lust” from the two words, קֶבֶר qeḇerStrong’s H6913 meaning, ‘graves, sepulchre’ and תַאֲוָה taavahStrong’s H8378 meaning, ‘a desire, longing, craving, lusting, intense greed’. Remember our discussion of the Nicolaitans and how they tried to worship YHVH in orgies. Rev 2:6 “Yet this you have, that you hate the works of the Nikolaites, which I also hate.
Rev_2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

13 – Ḥatsĕroth
Ḥatsĕroth – חֲצֵרוֹתStrong’s H2698 = “settlement, village, abode”.
Rev 7:15 “Because of this they are before the throne of Elohim, and serve Him day and night in His Dwelling Place. And He who sits on the throne shall spread His Tent over them.

14 – Rithmah
Rithmah – רִתְמָה Strong’s H7575 means, “heath” or ‘binding’ – in other words a place of joining together!
Eph’siyim/Ephesians 2:19-22 “So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the set-apart ones and members of the household of Elohim, 20 having been built upon the foundation of the emissaries and prophets, יהושע Messiah Himself being chief corner-stone, 21 in whom all the building, being joined together, grows into a set-apart Dwelling Place in יהוה , 22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of Elohim in the Spirit.”

15 – Rimmon Perets
Rimmon Perets –רִמֹן פָרֶץ Strong’s H7428 means, “pomegranate of the breach” or ‘abundant fruit’ or ‘stand in the breach’. It is from the two words: 1) רִמֹן RimmonStrong’s H7416 meaning, ‘pomegranate’ and 2) פֶרֶץ PeretsStrong’s H6556 meaning, ‘a bursting forth, breach, breakthrough, outburst, increase, prosperous’.

16 – Liḇnah
Liḇnah – לִבְנָהStrong’s H3841 means, “pavement” – a royal city of the Kenaʽanites in the southwest captured by Yehoshua; allocated to Yehuḏah and made a Lĕwite city. It can also mean a ‘white brick’ as it comes from the primitive root לָבֵן laḇenStrong’s H3835 meaning, ‘to make white or to make brick’.
This is a really beautiful foreshadowing: Rev 2:17 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I shall give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I shall give him a white stone, and on the stone a renewed Name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” ’

17 – Rissah
Rissah –רִסָה Strong’s H7446 means, “ruin” but can also mean ‘exercise control over’ or ‘temper’ which is “to dilute, qualify, or soften by the addition or influence of something else”.
Rev_2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

18 – Qehĕlathah
Qehĕlathah – קְהֵלָתָהStrong’s H6954 = “assembly” or entire congregation. We use the word qahal or kahal as a congregation or an assembly, but the B’rit Hadasha use two words ekklesia and sunagogue. It is sunagogue that is translated as church or congregation when the meaning is tied to a positive concept but only transliterated when it has a negative connotation.
Rev 1:20 “The secret of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are messengers of the seven assemblies, and the seven lampstands which you saw are seven assemblies.

19 – Mount Shapher
Mount Shapher – הַר ‘har’Strong’s H2022 means, ‘hill/mountain’ & שֶפֶר ShepherStrong’s H8234 means, “beauty”, form the primitive root שָפַר shapharStrong’s H8231 meaning, ‘to be beautiful, fair or comely’.

20 – Ḥaraḏah
Ḥaraḏah –חֲרָדָה Strong’s H2732 means, “fear or trembling” – the place of fear. Rev 11:18 “And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath has come, and the time of the dead to be judged, and to give the reward to Your servants the prophets and to the set-apart ones, and to those who fear Your Name, small and great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

21 – Maqhĕloth
Maqhĕloth – מַקְהֵלֹת – Strong’s H4722 means, “place of assembly”.
See number 18 above.

22 – Taḥath
Taḥath –תְַחַת Strong’s H8480 means, “station” or ‘under the authority of’.
Rev 11:6 These possess authority to shut the heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy. And they possess authority over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they wish.

23 – Teraḥ
Teraḥ – תֶרַח Strong’s H8646 means, “delay”. To take place without delay but with speed: Rev 1:1 Revelation of יהושע Messiah, which Elohim gave Him to show His servants what has to take place with speed. And He signified it by sending His messenger to His servant Yoḥanan,
Rev 1:2 who bore witness to the Word of Elohim, and the witness of יהושע Messiah – to all he saw.
Rev_10:6 and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created the heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it, that there shall be no further delay,

24 – Mithqah
Mithqah –מִתְקָה Strong’s H4989 means, “sweetness” or “pleasant waters”. Remember the little book? What is it? Torah
Rev_10:10 And I took the little book out of the messenger’s hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter.
Psa 19:9 The fear of יהוה is clean, standing forever; The right-rulings of יהוה are true, They are righteous altogether,
Psa 19:10 More desirable than gold, Than much fine gold; And sweeter than honey and the honeycomb.
Psa 119:101 I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I might guard Your word.
Psa 119:102 I have not turned aside from Your right-rulings, For You Yourself have taught me.
Psa 119:103 How sweet to my taste has Your word been, More than honey to my mouth!

25 – Ḥashmonah
Ḥashmonah – חַשְמֹנָה Strong’s H2832 means, “fatness” – (euphemism for the best) or “ambassadors or messenger”.
Rev 1:1 Revelation of יהושע Messiah, which Elohim gave Him to show His servants what has to take place with speed. And He signified it by sending His messenger to His servant Yoḥanan,
Rev 1:2 who bore witness to the Word of Elohim, and the witness of יהושע Messiah – to all he saw.
Yeshua is YHVH’s messenger to John as He also was to the Children of Yisrael as He lead them day and night through the wilderness for 42 years.

26 – Mosĕroth
Mosĕroth – מֹסְרוֹתStrong’s H4149 means, “bonds” or ‘admonition or correction’ or ‘discipline’. Tehillah/Psalm 94:12 “Blessed is the man You discipline, O Yah, and instruct out of Your Torah”
Once again the ‘little book’.

27 – Benĕi Yaʽaqan
Benĕi Yaʽaqan – בְנֵי יְַעֲ קָןStrong’s H1142 means, “sons of twisting” form the two words: בֵן ben Strong’s H1121 – ‘son’ and יַעֲקָן Ya‘aqanStrong’s H3292 meaning, ‘let him oppress them’ and comes from the word עֲקָן AqanStrong’s H6130 meaning, ‘sharp-sighted’ and was a descendant of Ěsaw; and this name comes from the primitive root עָקַל aqalStrong’s H6127 meaning, ‘to bend, twist’.
The first thing that comes to mind is the warning written by Peter: 2Pe 3:14 So then, beloved ones, looking forward to this, do your utmost to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,
2Pe 3:15 and reckon the patience of our Master as deliverance, as also our beloved brother Sha’ul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him,
2Pe 3:16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them concerning these matters, in which some are hard to understand,1 which those who are untaught and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do also the other Scriptures.
If you do not have the proper point of view will misunderstand the main point of the conversation. Sha’ul was a Pharasee; he could quote the Torah from memory so, his point of view is that of a first century Jew. Even in Peter’s day people were twisting Sha’ul’s words and trying to make them mean something that he did not intend.
Deḇarim/Deuteronomy 24:17 “Do not twist the right-ruling of a stranger or the fatherless, nor take the garment of a widow.” Tehillah/Psalm 56:5 “All day long they twist my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil.”

28 – Ḥor Haggiḏgaḏ
Ḥor Haggiḏgaḏ – חֹר הְַגִדְ גָד Strong’s H2735 means, “cavern/hollow of Gidgad”. We have talked about this ‘hollow’ before. It is known today as Petra. It was a place of sanctuary not false security: Rev 6:15 And the sovereigns of the earth, and the great ones, and the rich ones, and the commanders, and the mighty, and every slave and every free one, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,
Rev 6:16 and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him sitting on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb,
Rev 6:17 because the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

29 – Yotḇathah
Yotḇathah – יָטְבָתָהStrong’s H3193 means, “pleasantness” or “a good calm place”. Tehillah/Psalm 133:1 “See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity.”
Rev 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the heaven saying, “See, the Booth of Elohim is with men, and He shall dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and Elohim Himself shall be with them and be their Elohim.
Rev 21:4 “And Elohim shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying. And there shall be no more pain, for the former matters have passed away.

30 – Aḇronah
Aḇronah – עַבְרֹנָהStrong’s H5684 means, “passage”. Passage speaks of ‘a way’ or ‘right of way’. We talked about this in detail in our discussion of Bil’am of Be’or. Yeshua is the way, the narrow way or passage.

31 – Etsyon Geḇer
Etsyon Geḇer – עֶצְיוֹן גְֶבֶרStrong’s H6100 means, “backbone of a man” from the two words: עָצֶה atseh – Strong’s H6096 meaning, ‘spine, backbone’ and גֶבֶר geḇerStrong’s H1397 meaning, ‘man, warrior’ from the primitive root גָבַר gaḇarStrong’s H1396 meaning, ‘to be strong, mighty, strengthen’.

32 – Qaḏĕsh
Qaḏĕsh – קָדֵשStrong’s H6946 means, “set-apart”. Remember the sins that took place at Qadesh: 1) The people grumbled against Mosheh; 2) They called Qadesh an evil place; 3) Mosheh struck the Rock; and, 4) the people contended with YHVH
1) The name Qadesh means set-apart קדשׁ qâdêsh Strong’s H6946 BDB Definition: Kadesh = set-apart, holy(KJV). יהוה brought the Children of Yisrael to a place called holy or set-apart and they grumbled against it and contended with Mosheh. The word for ‘contended‘ is רוּב רִיב reeb, roob Strong’s H7378. A primitive root; properly to toss, that is, grapple; mostly figuratively to wrangle, that is, hold a controversy; (by implication) to defend: – adversary, chide, complain, contend, debate, X ever, X lay wait, plead, rebuke, strive, X thoroughly.
So, the people were guilty of taking an adversarial role toward יהוה ‘s designated leader of Yisrael.
2) Then they called what יהוה called ‘Set-Apart or Holy’, evil. This is done today by many who call Torah evil, the law, outdated, obsolete. By doing so they are saying Yeshua is evil, outdated, obsolete, etc. Either that or, they truly do not believe that Yeshua is YHVH’s eternal Word.
Isa 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Yeshua is יהוה ‘s Word and He is eternal: Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim.
Joh 1:2 He was in the beginning with Elohim.
Joh 1:3 All came to be through Him, and without Him not even one came to be that came to be. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Yeshua is unchangeable: Heb 13:8 יהושע Messiah is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
Yeshua is The Way, The Truth and The Life (Light) but because of the poor translation of the KJV most people don’t understand what is being spoken in this description: Joh_14:6 יהושע said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
The Way: Psa 119:1 Blessed are the perfect in the way, Who walk in the Torah of יהוה!
Psa 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth; Your right-rulings I have held level.
Psa 119:31 I have clung to Your witnesses; O יהוה, do not put me to shame!
Psa 119:32 I run the way of Your commands, For You enlarge my heart.
Psa 119:33 Teach me, O יהוה, the way of Your laws, And I observe it to the end.
The Truth: Psa 119:42 So that I answer my reprover, For I have trusted in Your word.
Psa 119:43 And do not take away from my mouth The word of truth entirely, For I have waited for Your right-rulings;
Psa 119:44 That I might guard Your Torah continually, Forever and ever;
Neh 9:13 “And You came down on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from the heavens, and gave them straight right-rulings and Torah of truth, good laws and commands.
Mal 2:6 “The Torah of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and straightness, and turned many away from crookedness.
Rom 2:20 an instructor of foolish ones, a teacher of babes, having the form of knowledge and of the truth in the Torah.
Joh 1:17 for the Torah was given through Mosheh – the favour and the truth came through יהושע Messiah.
And, the Light: Psa 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
Joh_1:7 This one came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all might believe through him.
Joh_1:8 He was not that Light, but that he might bear witness of that Light.
Joh_1:9 He was the true Light, which enlightens every man, coming into the world.
3) Mosheh struck the Rock and for this he was not allowed to enter into the Promise Land. The first time Mosheh was commanded to strike the Rock but this time he was told to speak to the Rock. I believe the key is not the word for Rock – H5553 סֶלַע sela‛ seh’-lah From an unused root meaning to be lofty; a craggy rock, literally or figuratively (a fortress): – (ragged) rock, stone (-ny), strong hold. David uses this word many times in his Psalms to mean stronghold or fortress. Rather, I believe the key is in the word for struck or strike (smote in KJV). The word is H5221 נָכָה nâkâh naw-kaw’ – but the key is the meaning behind it – beat, cast forth, clap, give [wounds], X go forward, X indeed, kill, smite (-r, -ing), strike, be stricken, (give) stripes.
Yeshua can only be wounded once, not twice: Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Set-apart Spirit,
Heb 6:5 and have tasted the good Word of Elohim and the powers of the age to come,
Heb 6:6 and fall away, to renew them again to repentance – having impaled for themselves the Son of Elohim again, and put Him to open shame.
Heb 10:26 For if we sin purposely after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a slaughter offering for sins,
Heb 10:27 but some fearsome anticipation of judgment, and a fierce fire which is about to consume the opponents.
Heb 10:28 Anyone who has disregarded the Torah of Mosheh dies without compassion on the witness of two or three witnesses.
Heb 10:29 How much worse punishment do you think shall he deserve who has trampled the Son of Elohim underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was set apart as common, and insulted the Spirit of favour?
Heb 10:30 For we know Him who has said, “Vengeance is Mine, I shall repay, says יהוה.” And again, “יהוה shall judge His people.”
Heb 10:31 It is fearsome to fall into the hands of the living Elohim.
Here is the phrase from Numbers 20:11(KJV+): he smote H5221 (H853) the rock H5553
Notice anything? What precedes the word rock? H853 the prophetic marker that is used profusely in the original writing to point out in scripture what is noteworthy. Unfortunately it has no specific meaning and is untranslatable to English. What is H853 – אֵת – The very Way that Yeshua identifies Himself in Revelation 1:8 : “I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, Beginning and End,” says יהוה “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
4)The people contended with YHVH and in Numbers 20:12 we see that YHVH was to be Set-Apart by the spoken Word. What was the word used for ‘speak’ in speak to the rock? Dabar – H1696 – which is the root word for midbar which is the Hebrew word for ‘wilderness’ and the word used for the name for the book of Numbers in Hebrew Bemidbar = in the wilderness. The Children had to go into the wilderness to receive the Word.

33 – Mount Hor
Mount Hor – הָר Strong’s H2022 – ‘har’ means, ‘hill/mountain’ and הֹר ‘hor’  Strong’s H2023 means, “mountain” – the mountain on which Aharon died; situated on the eastern side of the valley of Arabah, the highest of the whole range of sandstone mountains in Eḏom. Literally it means Mt. Mountain. What other famous mountain do we have in scripture? Revelation 16:16, Har Megiddo. Remember also that this is a bad transliteration from Hebrew to Greek and translated into English. The actual mountain being spoken of is Har M”d which is found in Isaiah 14:13 as the mount of appointment or congregation (KJV).

34 – Tsalmonah
Tsalmonah – צַלְמֹנָהStrong’s H6758 means, “shady or shadiness”.

35 – Punon
Punon – פוּנֹן Strong’s H6325 means, “darkness”.
Rev 16:10 And the fifth messenger poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his reign became darkened. And they gnawed their tongues from pain.

36 – Oḇoth
Oḇoth – אֹבֹת Strong’s H88 means, “waterskins”. This is the literal translation but the implied meaning is much worse. By implication it can be a necromancer, familiar spirit or evil spirit because of the deep low sound that a voice makes in a water jug. It can even mean a ventriloquist or ‘a voice from a jar’. This makes me think of this verse of scripture: Rev 18:2 And he cried with a mighty voice, saying, “Babel the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, and a haunt for every unclean and hated bird,
Also, remember a hated or unclean bird in prophecy is usually refering to evil spirits or demons but not devils.

37 – Iyĕ Ha-Aḇarim
Iyĕ Ha-Aḇarim – עִיֵי הְָעֲבָרִיםStrong’s H5863 means, “ruins of Aḇarim” and can also mean “ruins of sin/displacement”.
Rev 18:16 and saying, ‘Woe! Woe, the great city that was dressed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls!
Rev 18:17 ‘For in one hour such great riches was laid waste.’ And every shipmaster, and every passenger, and sailors, and as many as work the sea for their living, stood at a distance,
Rev 18:21 And one mighty messenger picked up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “With such a rush the great city Babel shall be thrown down, and shall not be found any more at all.

38 – Diḇon Gaḏ
Diḇon Gaḏ – דִיבֹןStrong’s H1769 means, “wasting, pine, mope, sorrow” and Gaḏ – גְָד – Strong’s H1410 – means, “troop” and can translate as ‘wasting away of a fortune’. What was the fortune that was wasted? Our Father’s inheritance? But looking at the alternate meaning of Dibon & Gad I see ‘army of sorrow’ which reminds me of the ‘army’ spewed out of the mouth of the serpent: Rev 12:15 And out of his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river after the woman, to cause her to be swept away by the river.
Rev 12:16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Elohim and possessing the witness of יהושע Messiah.
In Hebrew thought ‘mayim’ represents a group of people. The larger the body of water the larger the group of people. But this ‘army’ is characterized by a fast flowing river, like a wadi in the rainy season. Also, as we have talked about, why did the serpent turn back and go after the remnant of her seed? Why did her remnant not flee with her? They did not know the feasts or kept them at the wrong time so they were caught off guard. Sha’ul calls them shadows of things to come: Col 2:16 Let no one therefore judge you in eating or in drinking, or in respect of a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths –
Col 2:17 which are a shadow of what is to come – but the Body of the Messiah. (If I could add a flag or bells and whistles I would. This is the woman who fled into the wilderness, the Bride of Yeshua, Yisrael.) We are in the ‘wilderness’, among the nations, right now. Even the writer of Hebrews calls Torah a ‘shadow of good matters to come.’ How could Torah be a shadow of good matters to come if it is obsolete, done away with or fulfilled? (Heb.10:1)

39 – Almon Diḇlathayemah
Almon Diḇlathayemah – עְַלְמֹן דְִבְלָתָיְמָהStrong’s H5963 = “concealing the two cakes” or ‘hidden sweetness’ and comes from the two root words: 1) עָלַם alamStrong’s H5956 meaning, ‘conceal, blind, disregard’ and 2) דְבֵלָה deḇelahStrong’s H1690 meaning, ‘a lump (of pressed figs), a pressed (fig) cake, cake of figs’. Hidden sweetness. It is hidden to the modern Greek educated Christian theologian because they do not understand the mindset of the Hebrew culture: Eze 3:3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
Psa 19:8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Psa 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Psa 19:11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Rev_10:9 And I went to the messenger and said to him, “Give me the little book.” And he said to me, “Take and eat it, and it shall make your stomach bitter, but it shall be as sweet as honey in your mouth.” Rev_10:10 And I took the little book out of the messenger’s hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter.
By taking the little book and eating it he was given knowledge ((Knowledge consumed would be a part of that person forever.)). On the first day of Torah school a young Hebrew boy was given an old, unusable, piece of Torah covered in honey and told to eat it. This was symbolic so that the student would now know that Torah was a part of their very being. The honey was sweet but because the Torah was old and handled thousands of times would often make the kids sick to their stomachs. We missed that in English but each person of Hebrew heritage did not.

40 – Aḇarim
Aḇarim –עְֲבָרִים Strong’s H5682 means, “regions beyond”. Abarim is the plural of a/b/r or Eber. It is this word that gives us the word Hebrew in English: H5680 עברי – ‛ibrı̂y BDB Definition:
Hebrew = “one from beyond”. Regions beyond usually refer to the regions beyond the Jordan River but remember, Abraham was called a Hebrew because he crossed the Euphrates River which is the true dividing line for the physical nation of Yisrael, not the Jordan. It was only acquired during David’s reign and quickly lost after Solomon’s death.

41 – Mo’aḇ
Mo’aḇ – מוֹאָב Strong’s H4124 means, “of his father” or “from a father”. Moab was the first born son of Lot’s sons by his daughters after the destruction of the 5 cities of Sedom: Admah, Tseboyim, Tsoar, Sedom and “Amorah. The girls thought that the whole world had been destroyed and that there were no other men left to father their children. This reminds me of Yeshua’s upbraiding of the Pharisees: Joh 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you wish to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Rev 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon who gave authority to the beast. And they worshipped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to fight with him?”
Rev 13:5 And he was given a mouth speaking great matters and blasphemies, and he was given authority to do so forty-two months.
Rev 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against Elohim, to blaspheme His Name, and His Tent, and those dwelling in the heaven. ((This is a very important phrase. Know what it means G986 to vilify, denigrate, demean to deny the validity of, to defame, belittle, to caluminate the character of. Any bells or whistles going off yet? Exo 20:7 “You do not bring the Name of יהוה your Elohim to naught, for יהוה does not leave the one unpunished who brings His Name to naught.))
Rev 13:7 And it was given to him to fight with the set-apart ones and to overcome them. And authority was given to him over every tribe and tongue and nation.
Rev 13:8 And all those dwelling on the earth, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the slain Lamb, from the foundation of the world shall worship him.

42 – Bĕyth Yeshimoth
Bĕyth Yeshimoth – בֵּית הְַיְשִימוֹתStrong’s H1020 means, “house of the desolation”. I don’t know if you have noticed but the names of the starting/departure points are getting worse, not better. You would think that the closer they got to the Promise Land each stop would have had more hope than the last one.
Mat 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
Luk 13:35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Doesn’t apply to you? Remember the Torah of Leprosy!

And now, the next, third, 42 to think about:

1 – אַבְרָהָם Aḇraham – Strong’s H85 – ‘exalted father, father of a multitude
2 – יִצְחָק Yitsḥaq – Strong’s H3327 – ‘he laughs, smiles
We need to recognise this as we see in the Hebraic mind-set that when referring to Ya’aqoḇ they did not only see a ‘supplanter’ but they also saw a father who persevered with Elohim!
4 – יְהוּדָה Yehuḏah – Strong’s H3063‘praised’ as discussed earlier.
5 – פֶרֶץ Perets – Strong’s H6557 – ‘breach, break through or burst forth
6 – חֶצְרוֹן Ḥetsron – Strong’s H2696 – ‘surrounded by a wall, enclosure
7 – רָם Ram – Strong’s H7410 – ‘high, exalted, great height
8 – עַמִינָדָב Amminadaḇ – Strong’s H5992 – ‘my kinsman is noble
9 – נַחְשוֹן Naḥshon – Strong’s H5177‘enchanter, whisperer’, – while this name can certainly have a negative aspect to it as it certainly can remind us of the naḥash (serpent) in the Garden who deceived Ḥavvah, however it can also be rendered in this case to mean ‘prophet’ as Naḥshon’s sister was Aharon’s wife and he was also called ‘the leader of the people of Yehuḏah’ (Bemiḏbar/Numbers 2:3)
10 – שַלְמוֹן Salmon – Strong’s H8012 – ‘garment, clothes’
11 – בֹעַז Boaz – Strong’s H1162 – ‘quickness, swiftness, fleetness’ and was a name of a pillar in the Hěḵal of Shelomoh signifying ‘strength’.
12 – עוֹבֵד Oḇeḏ – Strong’s H5744 – ‘serving, servant, worshipper
13 – יִשַי Yishai – Strong’s H3448 – ‘I possess
29
14 – דָוִד Dawiḏ – Strong’s H1732 – ‘beloved, beloved one
15 – שְלֹמֹה Shelomoh – Strong’s H8010 – ‘peace, peaceful
16 – רְחַבְעָם Reḥaḇ’am – Strong’s H7346 – ‘people are enlarged, extended to an open space’ a picture of setting free
17 – אֲבִיָה Aḇiyah – Strong’s H29 – ‘29 – ‘Yah is my father
18 – אָסָא Asa – Strong’s H609 – ‘healer’
19 – יְהוֹשָפָט Yehoshaphat – Strong’s H3092‘יהוה has judged’.
20 – יוֹרָם Yoram – Strong’s H3141 – ‘whom יהוה has exalted’.
21 – עֻזִיָה Uzziyah – Strong’s H5818 – ‘my strength is Yah’.
22 – יוֹתָם Yotham – Strong’s H3147‘Yah is perfect
23 – אָחָז Aḥaz – Strong’s H271 – ‘he has grasped, taken hold of, he possesses
24 – חִזְקִיָהוּ Ḥizqiyahu – Strong’s H2396 – ‘יהוה is my strength
25 – מְנַשֶה Menashsheh – Strong’s H4519 – ‘causing to forget, who makes me forget
26 – אָמוֹן Amon – Strong’s H526 – ‘skilled workman, master architect, master builder
27 – יאֹשִיָהוּ Yoshiyahu – Strong’s H2977 – ‘whom יהוה heals
28 – יְכָנְיָה Yeḵonyah – Strong’s H3204 – ‘יהוה establishes, upholds, appoints
29 – שְאַלְתִיאֵל She’alti’ěl – Strong’s H7597 – ‘I have asked of ĚL
30 – זְרֻבָבֶל Zerubbaḇel – Strong’s H2216 – ‘sown in Baḇel, begotten in Baḇelon
31 – אֲבִיהוּד Aḇihuḏ – Strong’s H31 – ‘my father is majestic
32 – אַבְנֵר Aḇner – Strong’s H74 – ‘my father is a lamp’
33 – אֶלְיָקִים Elyaqim – Strong’s H471 – ‘ĚL raises up
34 – עַזֻר Azzur – Strong’s H5809 – ‘help
35 – צָדוֹק Tsaḏoq – Strong’s H6659 – ‘righteous, just, upright
36 – יוֹקִים Yoqim – Strong’s H3137 – ‘Yah raises up
37 – אֱלִיהוּדְ Elihuḏ – ‘my ĚL is praisedfrom אֵל el and הוֹד hoḏ – Strong’s H1935 –‘splendour, majesty, comeliness, beauty’.
38 – אֶלְעָזָר Elʽazar – Strong’s H499‘ĚL has helped, help of ĚL’.
39 – מַתָן Mattan – Strong’s H4977 – ‘gift
40 – 3 – יַעֲקֹב Ya’aqoḇ – Strong’s H3290as discussed earlier, however I believe it is used in reference here to the whole nation of Yisra’ĕl being redeemed – and is the allotted inheritance of יהוה (Deḇarim/Deuteronomy 32:9)
41 – יוֹסֵף Yosĕph – Strong’s H3130 – ‘he increases or Yah has added’. (Father and not the husband of Miryam)
42 – יהושע – Yahushua – Strong’s H3091 – ‘יהוה is Salvation’.

Which means:
The exalted Father laughs at the enemy. The One who is praised breaks through a wall of great height – Our Kinsman Redeemer is noble, the prophet spoken of who is clothed with strength has come to serve. The Beloved One is the Prince of Peace who sets the people free and enlarges their territory. Our Father is יהוה , and He is the Healer who judges and He is the One who raises up and exalts. Our strength is in יהוה , who is perfect and has taken hold of His people for a possession. יהוה is our strength who causes us to forget our troubles and He is the Master Builder who heals us and establishes us. El was asked about the exiles sown in Baḇylon and has answered, for our Father is majestic and He is a lamp who raises up and helps; and in righteousness He raises up and He is greatly to be praised for He has helped in giving the gift of life to Ya’aqoḇ his allotted inheritance which He increases through our Saviour, יהושע Messiah!

Lesson date: 5/6/5857AA

“Taking up the Stake”

Shalom everyone. I am sorry but we are going to have to cover a whole passel of Hebrew words because this chapter is SCREAMING — “Bo Yeshu’a” in addition to 15 or more H853’s appearing in text. Not surprisingly we are going to spend a lot of time in the B’rit Hadasha, especially Revelation. Joh_5:46 “For if you believed Mosheh, you would have believed Me, since he wrote about Me.

Joh_1:45 Philip found Nethan’ěl and said to him, “We have found Him whom Mosheh wrote of in the Torah, and the prophets: יהושע of Natsareth – the son of Yosěph.”

Verses 1-2 – Sit down, buckle up and hang on because it begins in Verse 1: H4550 – מסּע – massa‛ – BDB Definition:
1) a pulling up (of stakes), breaking camp, setting out, journey 1a) pulling up, breaking camp 1b) setting out 1c) station, stage, journey
Mat 10:38 “And he who does not take up his stake and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

Mat 16:24 Then יהושע said to His taught ones, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake, and follow Me.

Isa 22:22 And I shall place the key of the house of Dawiḏ on his shoulder. And he shall open, and no one shuts; and shall shut, and no one opens.
Isa 22:23 And I shall fasten him like a peg in a steadfast place, and he shall become a throne of esteem to his father’s house.
Isa 22:24 And they shall hang on him all the weight of his father’s house, the offspring and the offshoots, all vessels of small quantity, from the cups to all the jars.
Isa 22:25 In that day,’ declares יהוה of hosts, ‘the peg that is fastened in the steadfast place shall be removed and be cut down and fall, and the burden that was on it shall be cut off. For יהוה has spoken.’ ”

Mar 10:21 And יהושע, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One matter you lack: Go, sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven. And come, follow Me, taking up the stake.”

Wow! We are commanded to pull up the tent pegs, to break camp. This is a military term. During the un-Civil War there was a command “Strike the tents” which meant the same thing, to pick up the tent stakes so that the tent, Dwelling Place, could be taken down.

Next word of interest is: לְְצִבְאֹתָם – “letsoḇeotam’ – A lot of times I put words up so that you can see that the word being discussed is not the same word that appears in the KJV+, which only shows the root word, which here in this case is H6635 – צבאה צבא – tsâbâ’ / tsebâ’âh – 1) that which goes forth, army, war, warfare, host

((Author’s note: When speaking in English, almost unconsciously, we add volume and/or gestures to convey added meaning to our words. We form questions by raising the tone of our voice at the end of the interrogative. Semitic languages are different in that the verbs conjugation determines the level of “intensity” or desire conveyed in the word. So, in Arabic, Aramaic and Hebrew and Farsi you can whisper a word, conjugated probably, that carries great weight and equals the loudest shouted command in English.: 1Ki 19:12 and after the earthquake a fire – יהוה was not in the fire, and after the fire a still small voice. We do know not exactly what words Eliyahu heard but we know that it was fearsome by his actions: 1Ki 19:13 And it came to be, when Ěliyahu heard it, that he wrapped his face in his robe and went out and stood at the cave opening. And see, a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Ěliyahu?”))

“Under the hand” – בְיַד – beyaḏ – comes from the word “yad” – H3027 – hand. The initial “beyt” means in or under, hence the name of this book of Torah, Bemidbar – In the Wilderness. This is saying that the Children of Yisra’el were under the “authority, command or power of Mosheh (Torah) and Aharon (High Priest). Please refer back to John 5:46 and 1:45 above: Act_15:21 “For from ancient generations Mosheh has, in every city, those proclaiming him – being read in the congregations every Sabbath.”
Mosheh is synonymous with Torah and Yeshu’a is the Walking, Talking, Breathing, Living Torah. While Aharon is likewise synonymous with our High Priest: Heb_4:14 Therefore, since we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, יהושע the Son of Elohim, let us hold fast our confession.
What is being said is that under the command/leadership of Yeshu’a, our Torah and also the leadership of Yeshu’a our Great High Priest we came out of Mitsrayim. ((This is where you need to start buckling up for the WOW of this roller coaster.))

We have to look at least one more term, okay two at most and, a place name. I apologize because I have never made this point before I looking back into our studies. First, starting point: H4161 – מצא / מוצא – môtsâ’ – BDB Definition: 1) act or place of going out or forth, issue, export, source, spring
Isn’t this odd? Could it mean like a spring of Living Water? Just a thought. Let’s look at was very craftily revealed here: Num 33:2 And Mosheh wrote down(H853) the starting points of their departures at the mouth of יהוה, Mosheh wrote down the starting place for coming out of Egypt/Babel mystery religion in order for us to depart from Babel as told by the mouth of YHVH. Torah is the starting point for: Rev 18:2 And he cried with a mighty voice, saying, “Baḇel the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, and a haunt for every unclean and hated bird,
Rev 18:3 because all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her whoring, and the sovereigns of the earth have committed whoring with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the power of her riotous living.”
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from the heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.

And, a place name: H4714 – מִצְרַיִם – mitsrayim – mits-rah’-yim – Dual of H4693; Mitsrajim, that is, Upper and Lower Egypt: – Egypt, Egyptians, Mizraim.
This is where I want to impose my training onto to everyone else. I was taught Egyptian by native Egyptian speaking teachers and we are not seeing everything that is being said so I will delve into the root words of the Hebrew to give you a better idea of what is meant in Egyptian. Ready? It clearly says Dual of H4693, in turn it says root word H4692: H4692 – מצוּר / מצור – mâtsôr / mâtsûr – BDB Definition: 1) siege-enclosure, siege, entrenchment, siege works 1a) siege 1b) enclosure, siege-works, rampart

Please note that when you look at the definition it will reference the root word as H6696 – צוּר – tsûr – BDB Definition: 1) to bind, besiege, confine, cramp 1a) (Qal) 1a1) to confine, secure 1a2) to shut in, beseige 1a3) to shut up, enclose: Do you see it? To enclose bind, confine and shut up. In other words a prison: Gen 39:20 Then Yosěph’s master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the sovereign’s prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison.
Get it? Exo 1:11 So they set slave-masters over them to afflict them with their burdens, and they built for Pharaoh supply cities, Pithom and Ra‛amses.
Just like the Egyptians call their supervisor RWMAN pronounced “roo-mon” which means “to beat or pummel with a stick,” which is what the Romans did to the Egyptians after they were enslaved by the Romans, Egypt – Misra (in Egyptian) was a prison or a place of captivity for the Hebrews and that is how it got its name: Gen 10:6 And the sons of Ḥam: Kush, and Mitsrayim, and Put, and Kena‛an.

Gen 9:24 And Noaḥ awoke from his wine, and he knew what his younger son(Ham) had done to him,
Gen 9:25 and he said, “Cursed is Kena‛an, let him become a servant of servants to his brothers.”

Verse 3 – This verse is important for two reasons and let’s start with the not so obvious one. There is a lot of debate about when people should observe the Pesach Meal. Verse 3 makes it very obvious and as clear as it can get: Num 33:3 So they departed from Ra‛meses in the first new moon, on the fifteenth day of the first new moon, on the morrow of the Pěsaḥ

In the first month of the year, Aviv/Abib, on the 15th day of the month, Unleavened Bread, on the morning after the Pesach Meal. If the Children of Yisra’el had eaten the Passover Meal after the sunset that began the 14th they would have had to wait 36 hours before departing on the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The same applies to the crucifixion of Yeshu’a. It is plain that He died before the Feast of Unleavened Bread, on Preparation Day. He had to be buried hastily because the next day, at sunset was Thursday, and it was a sabbath, once again Unleavened Bread, something the church cannot comprehend because they have done away with Torah. Wednesday, the 14th of Aviv, just before the sunset, the meal was prepared and eaten between the evenings and the morrow after, once again was Unleavened Bread. Yes! I repeated myself in a deliberate effort to make my point, people who eat the Passsover meal at sunset on the 13th day going into the 14th day are not partaking of the Pesach but rather the remembrance meal.

Now, the second reason this verse is very important is it begins the recounting of the starting points. The first one is Ramses in the Land of Goshen so it is actually the Zero point or rallying point. Please note, for this to be relevant to us today we must see how this demonstrates the method of coming out of Egypt/Babel mystery religion, right?

0. Ramses – H7486 – רעמסס / רעמסס – ra‛mesês / ra‛amsês – BDB Definition: Raamses or Rameses = “child of the sun”. Were you ever a child of the sun? I was. I faithfully attending “church” every Sunday morning and evening and I even had a key to unlock the door. I trampled YHVH’s sabbath under foot and instead kept the day set aside for worshipping the Sun god: Mal 3:6 “For I am יהוה, I shall not change, and you, O sons of Ya‛aqoḇ, shall not come to an end.

Here is where I have a problem, it specifically states He shall not change and I have heard Christians quote this verse and tell me they believe it but, then they also believe His Son came and did away with Torah, YHVH’s eternal instructions for having a good relationship with not only the Father but also His Son. How can Yeshu’a be His Beloved Son if He came to tear down His Father’s House, His Covenant? Would I be a good son to my father if I destroyed everything he spent his life working for, including his good name and reputation? NO!!!

Notice the second part of Num 33:3: the children of Yisra’ěl went out with boldness before the eyes of all the Mitsrites, Why do you think they went out with “boldness”?

1. Sukkoth – H5523 – סכּת / סכּות – sûkkôth / BDB Definition: Succoth = “booths”. So, after coming out of Egypt/ Babel they learned YHVH’s appointed times, His moedim, His sabbaths: Lev 23:1 And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
Lev 23:2 “Speak to the children of Yisra’ěl, and say to them, ‘The appointed times of יהוה, which you are to proclaim as set-apart gatherings, My appointed times, are these:
What is the first one we are to learn and keep?

Recognizing Sukkot/ the Appointed times is our first stop of our journey after coming out of Egypt/Babel. Please stop and think about this, the Children of Yisra’el encamped and marched around Mt. Sinai for 2 years until they could move as an army and went to scout out the land. There, the Children of Yisra’el believed the evil report of the 10 spies and was condemned to spend another 40 wandering in the wilderness. What does the name Bemidbar tell us about the wilderness? Now, look at the parallel: Rev 12:1 And a great sign was seen in the heaven: a woman clad with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
Rev 12:2 And being pregnant, she cried out in labour and in pain to give birth.a
Rev 12:3 And another sign was seen in the heaven: and see, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns on his heads.
Rev 12:4 And his tail draws a third of the stars of the heaven and throws them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Rev 12:5 And she bore a male child who was to shepherd all nations with a rod of iron. And her child was caught away to Elohim and to His throne.
Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by Elohim, to be nourished there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
Who is this woman? How many months does 1,260 days represent? At what time of year can the woman clad with the sun as described in verses 1-4 be seen in the sky? Why is that relevant to John 1:14? Rev 13:5 And he was given a mouth speaking great matters and blasphemies, and he was given authority to do so forty-two months.
Rev 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against Elohim, to blaspheme His Name, and His Tent, and those dwelling in the heaven.

In our Ketubah in Exodus 20, how does the first of the 10 Words begin?

We now know that we need to stop being obedient to the sun god of Emperor Constantine, Mithras, and learn the Appointed Times of YHVH our Elohim. We now know enough that we can go into the wilderness to learn how to be set-apart. We know enough to know that we are ignorant of our Father’s Ways instead of following the doctrine or dogmas of church theology. We can now take the first baby steps of being obedient to our Father’s Commands: Col 2:14 having blotted out that which was written by hand against us – by the dogmas – which stood against us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the stake. G1378 – δόγμα – dogma – dog’-mah – From the base of G1380; a law (civil, ceremonial or ecclesiastical): – decree, ordinance. Remember, ekklesia is one of the two words that the KJV translates as “church”. The other Greek word is sunagogue, unless the connotation can be construed as negative and then, it is not translated but rather transliterated as synagogue

2 – Etham – H864 – אתם – ‘êthâm – BDB Definition: Etham = “with them: their plowshare”. I believe that this stopping point has three possible meanings for us in our study. First; Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was thrown out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who leads all the world astray. He was thrown to the earth, and his messengers were thrown out with him.
Hasatan is now on the earth and his angels are with him and, he with them.
Second; in our journey through the Wilderness it is important to remember that YHVH is with them in their journey and also with us in our journey as we learn to be obedient to Him and His Word. And thirdly, we see the significance of the ploughshare: Mic 4:1 And in the latter days it shall be that the mountain of the House of יהוה is established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills. And peoples shall flow to it.
Mic 4:2 And many nations shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of יהוה, to the House of the Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ, and let Him teach us His ways, and let us walk in His paths. For out of Tsiyon comes forth the Torah, and the word of יהוה from Yerushalayim.”
Mic 4:3 And He shall judge among many peoples, and reprove strong nations afar off. They shall beat their swords into plough shares, and their spears into pruning hooks – nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither teach battle any more.
Mic 4:4 But each one shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree, with no one to make them afraid, for the mouth of יהוה of hosts has spoken.
Mic 4:5 For all the peoples walk, each one in the name of his mighty one, but we walk in the Name of יהוה our Elohim forever and ever.
What is going to happen in the latter days? When might this be?

3 – Pi Hahiroth – H6367 – פּי החרת – pı̂y hȧchirôth – BDB Definition: Pi-hahiroth = “place where sedge grows”. This is a little misleading. Pi comes from Pey the Hebrew word for “mouth”. Ha just means “the” but Khoor H2352 means the “cave or den of a serpent”: Rev 12:15 And out of his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river after the woman, to cause her to be swept away by the river.
Rev 12:16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.

4 – Marah – ((Oh boy! This is gonna be good.)) – H4785 – מרה – mârâh – BDB Definition: Marah = “bitter”. Wow! That was simple, but is it? Exo 15:23 And they came to Marah, and they were unable to drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. So the name of it was called Marah.
Exo 15:24 And the people grumbled against Mosheh, saying, “What are we to drink?”
Exo 15:25 Then he cried out to יהוה, and יהוה showed him a tree. And when he threw it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a law and a right-ruling for them, and there He tried them.
We are gonna play detective. The waters were bitter “marah” and so YHVH showed Mosheh a tree. A tree? H6086 – עֵץ – ‛êts – ates – From H6095; a tree (from its firmness); hence wood (plural sticks): – carpenter, gallows (like a cross)
Since my internet is down I cannot show you the Hebrew for Matt. 10:38 but it is the very same word and is most often translated as gallows or tree. Mat 10:38 “And he who does not take up his stake and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

Isa 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
I will logically infer that tree, gallows and carpenter are a direct reference to some future event. Maybe? Yeshu’a tells the Samaritan woman at the well that He is the Source of Living Water, Mayim Chayim.

5 – Elim – H362 – אילם – ‘êylim – BDB Definition: Elim = “palms”. Something not often mentioned is the palms can also mean “upright or righteous men” as in the 70 elders over Yisra’el. It may also be a reference to the 70 other heathen nations of the world but let’s look at it carefully before we decide.
Num 33:9 And they departed from Marah and came to Ělim. And at Ělim were twelve springs of water . Yeshu’a was the origin of the Living Water and his disciples carried that Living Water around the world and so the 12 springs would represent the 12 tribes of Yisra’el and the 12 apostles of Yeshu’a so I believe that this is a direct reference to the righteous government of Yisra’el. How many righteous men make a quorum? Rev 22:2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Eze 47:12 “And by the bank of the stream, on both sides, grow all kinds of trees used for food, whose leaves do not wither and fruit do not fail. They bear fruit every new moon, because their water flows from the set-apart place. And their fruit shall be for food, and their leaves for healing.” Folks, sounds like the same tree to me.

6 – Sea of Reeds – יַם־סוּף – ‘yam-suph’ – Let’s examine this closely. Everyone calls it the Red Sea so, let’s investigate and see which sea it is: H3220 – ים – yâm – BDB Definition: 1) We: Okay, please select from the list of meanings you want this one to be. Sea is just sea, right? Okay, how about the other word? H5488 – סוּף – sûph – BDB Definition: 1) reed, rush, water plant 1a) rushes 1b) sea of rushes. H5488 comes from H5486 and it can mean to end, to cease, to be fulfilled. Before we go any further what Hebrew word means red?

Here we are and we see two possible meaning for this We; the Sea of Reeds or the Sea of the End: Exo 14:11 And they said to Mosheh, “Did you take us away to die in the wilderness because there are no burial-sites in Mitsrayim? What is this you have done to us, to bring us up out of Mitsrayim?
Exo 14:12 “Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Mitsrayim, saying, ‘Leave us alone and let us serve the Mitsrites?’ For it would have been better for us to serve the Mitsrites than to die in the wilderness.” The Children of Yisra’el clearly thought that this sea would be an end to them before they went any farther. Rev 12:11 “And they overcame him because of the Blood of the Lamb, and because of the Word of their witness, and they did not love their lives to the death.
Do you see the difference? The Children of Yisra’el loved their lives more than dying as a testimony to the great works and the testimony of YHVH but, those in the End Time will not love their lives more than their martyrdom. Halellu-Yah!!!

7 – Wilderness of Sin (Seen, the moon god.) H5512 – סין – sı̂yn – BDB Definition: Sin = “thorn” or “clay”. Okay, Daryl it doesn’t say the Moon god. True, but in Egyptian it does. Let’s see if there are clues in Hebrew that we can follow to find the true meaning. Also, before we go any farther, at this time in Egyptian history the Moon god is superior to the Sun god because of the effect that the moon has on the tides and the menstrual cycle of a woman.
X samech – thorn, prop up, to aid, to assist, to grab hold
I yode or yad – hand, arm of power
n noon, nun – fish, new sprout, seed, serpent

Siyn = To grab hold of the arm of power of the serpent seed.

Sounds like worshipping a false god to me. Why did YHVH take the Children of Yisra’el to Pi Hahiroth and tell them to look to Ba’al Tsephon and now take them into the Wilderness of Sin? Here’s a clue: Exodus 12:12.

8 – Dophqah – I know you are going to think I am making this up but I promise this comes straight from the Brown-Driver-Briggs: H1850 – דּפקה – dophqâh – BDB Definition: Dophkah = “knocking”, or knocking at the door: Rev 3:20 “See, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I shall come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Does everyone understand this verse? What is being said by whom to whom? Luk 13:25 “When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Master, Master, open for us,’ and He shall answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’
Luk 13:26 then you shall begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’
Luk 13:27 “But He shall say, ‘I say to you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of unrighteousness.’

Mat 7:22 “Many shall say to Me in that day, ‘Master, Master, have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and done many mighty works in Your Name?’
Mat 7:23 “And then I shall declare to them, ‘I never knew you, depart from Me, you who work lawlessness!’

I have to ask as very serious question: how many of us have prophesied in Yeshu’a’s Name? How many have cast out demons in Yeshu’a’s Name? Now, how many have done mighty works in Yeshu’a’s Name?
Now look at what follows: ‘I never knew you, depart from Me, you who work lawlessness!’
What is lawlessness? G458 – ἀνομία – anomia – Thayer Definition: 1) the condition of without law
1a) because ignorant of it 1b) because of violating it 2) contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness. That begs the question, “What law?” G3551 – νόμος – nomos – Thayer Definition:
1) anything established, anything received by usage, a custom, a law, a command 1a) of any law whatsoever 1a1) a law or rule producing a state approved of God
1a1a) by the observance of which is approved of God 1a2) a precept or injunction
1a3) the rule of action prescribed by reason 1b) of the Mosaic law, and referring, acc. to the context. either to the volume of the law or to its contents

Nomos being of the Torah or God’s Law, Anomia or anomos being outside of God’s Law or Torah.

9 – Alush – H442 – אלוּשׁ – ‘âlûsh – BDB Definition: Alush = “I will knead (bread)”. There are two times that we knead bread, the first at Matzot or Unleavened Bread which represents the barley harvest which has no leaven and is the superior bread represented by the Messiah. Then there is Shavuot, called Pentecost because the church did not understand the significance of counting 50 days. This is the wheat harvest and this is when Yeshua comes for us. Remember, the tares are bound and burned first and then the wheat is put in the Master’s barn. So, knowing this, do you want to be part of a “rapture” where you are taken first? Isa_66:17 those who set themselves apart and cleanse themselves at the gardens after ‘one’ in the midst, eating flesh of pigs and the abomination and the mouse, are snatched away, together,” declares יהוה. This is the phrase used to justify the Rapture, snatched away. It doesn’t sound so happy to me.

10 – Rephidim – H7508 – רפידים – rephı̂ydı̂ym – BDB Definition: Rephidim = “rests” or “stays” or “resting places”. I believe that it is plural because 3 major things happened while they camped here. It can also mean to spread, to spread as a bed, to spread ones hands.
1) Num_20:11 Then Mosheh lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod. And much water came out, and the congregation and their livestock drank.
But, this was contrary to the command of Elohim who told him to speak to the Rock. Yeshu’a would not be struck twice but only once.

2) The defeat of Amaleq – Exo 17:8 And Amalěq came and fought with Yisra’ěl in Rephiḏim.
Exo 17:9 And Mosheh said to Yehoshua, “Choose for us men and go out, fight with Amalěq. Tomorrow I am stationing myself on the top of the hill with the rod of Elohim in my hand.”
Exo 17:10 And Yehoshua did as Mosheh said to him, to fight with Amalěq. And Mosheh, Aharon, and Ḥur went up to the top of the hill.
Exo 17:11 And it came to be, when Mosheh held up his hand, that Yisra’ěl prevailed. And when he let down his hand, Amalěq prevailed.
Exo 17:12 But Mosheh’s hands were heavy, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aharon and Ḥur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. And his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
Exo 17:13 And Yehoshua defeated Amalěq and his people with the edge of the sword.
Exo 17:14 And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Write this for a remembrance in the book and recite it in the hearing of Yehoshua, that I shall completely blot out the remembrance of Amalěq from under the heavens.”
Exo 17:15 And Mosheh built a slaughter-place and called its name, יהוה Nissi,
Exo 17:16 for he said, “Because a hand is on the throne of Yah, יהוה is to fight against Amalěq, from generation to generation.”

3) Mosheh is confronted by his father-in-law Yithro. It was then that Re’u’el realized the burden that was on his son-in-law’s shoulders so he advised him to appointed elders to rule on the small things and reserve the big things for Mosheh: Heb 12:12 So, strengthen the hands which hang down and the weak knees,

11 – Wilderness of Sinai – H4057 – מדבּר – midbâr – BDB Definition: 1) wilderness 1a) pasture
1b) uninhabited land, wilderness. Don’t associate wilderness with desert.

H5514 – סיני – sı̂ynay – BDB Definition: Sinai = “thorny”. YHVH brought the Children of Yisra’el to this deserted place so they would not be worried about the cares of the world. Here, in the wilderness, there were no distractions and they spent two years here, practicing how to set up camp, tear down the camp and move in formation as an army. He brought them to this “thorny” place to prick their hearts to be attentive to His Word. Here is where they said “we do” in Exodus Chapter 19. It was hear that they all heard the voice of Elohim and it scared them so much in Chapter 20 that they begged Mosheh to NOT allow them to hear YHVH’s voice again lest they die. Rev 12:14 And the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, to fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.
Now you know why the woman must go into the wilderness, to get away from all the noise of doctrine and theology and listen to the Word Himself: Mat 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete.
Mat 5:18 “For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one yod or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done.

Has the world ended since Yeshu’a uttered these words? Has the heavens? When will the earth and the heavens “pass away”? Have we found all the prophecies about Yeshu’a in Torah yet?

12 – H6914 – קברות התּאוה – qibrôth haṫta’ăvâh – BDB Definition: Kibroth-hattaavah = “graves of lust”
Remember what happened here? The people lusted after meat. Php_3:19 Their end is destruction, their mighty one is their stomach, and their esteem is in their shame – they mind the earthly.
How many times do we hear it today, “I’m not giving up bacon, I’m not giving up pork, I’m not giving up seafood, not giving up catfish, etc. etc. The people died with a full belly and quail running out of their noses. Set the limit of your faith and YHVH will make sure you reach it. The lusts of the flesh far exceeded their faith in Elohim. People want so badly to follow their noses and their stomachs that they deliberately use Peter’s dream as an excuse but when Peter gave the interpretation of his dream, twice, he did not even mention food: 1Jn 2:15 Do not love the world nor that which is in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1Jn 2:16 Because all that is in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but is of the world.
1Jn 2:17 And the world passes away, and the lust of it, but the one doing the desire of Elohim remains forever.

13 – H2698 – חצרות – chătsêrôth – BDB Definition: Hazeroth = “settlement”. It can also mean yards as in lawns but Hatseroth has another meaning and I am not sure how it came to be but it can be an opening, like a valley, that starts out small but widens as you go into. Think about the shape of a herald’s trumpet: Rev 8:6 And the seven messengers who held the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
From here the Children of Yisra’el went into the Wilderness of Paran where the Children listened to the evil report about the giants and received a curse for their unbelief.

14 – H7575 – רתמהrithmâh – BDB Definition: Rithmah = “heath”. This could mean the low growing evergreen plant with the pretty pink or purple flowers or uncultivated land covered with low growing plants. This is where the Children of Yisra’el were re-united with the spies. For this reason I belief the definition to use here is coarse, uncultivated land covered with low growing weeds. The Children of Yisra’el we so quick to believe the report of the 10 spies rather than Yehoshua and Kaleb. Their hearts were coarse and uncultivated and could not grow trees which bore good fruits: Luk_8:15 “And that on the good soil are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, retain it, and bear fruit with endurance.

15 – H7428 – רמּן פּרץ – rimmôn perets – BDB Definition: Rimmon-parez = “pomegranate of the breach”
Doesn’t make sense? Think of abundantly prosperous: Joh 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who stays in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit. Because without Me you are able to do naught!
Joh 15:6 “If anyone does not stay in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up. And they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

16 – Libnah – H3841 – לבנה – libnâh – BDB Definition: Libnah = “pavement” or it can mean white stone, probably from the stones used to pave roads. Libnah was the royal capitol city of the Kena’anites that was taken by Yehoshua: Rev 2:17 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I shall give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I shall give him a white stone, and on the stone a renewed Name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” ’

17 – H7446 – רסּה – rissâh – BDB Definition: Rissah = “ruin”: Isa 58:12 “And those from among you shall build the old waste places. You shall raise up the foundations of many generations. And you would be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In. Welcome to Torah!

Once you start looking at this word it is one of the words that make Hebrew so unique. Rissah can also mean to exercise control over, temper (such as tune, adjust or moderate) also it can have the meaning of to dilute, qualify, or soften by the addition or influence of something else, like diluting Torah with modern teaching or causing Torah to go to “ruin” by denying the validity of the Truth of Torah in our lives: 2Ti_4:3 For there shall be a time when they shall not bear sound teaching, but according to their own desires, they shall heap up for themselves teachers tickling the ear,

The Torah is the teaching of Righteousness but most people cannot bear that: Eze 18:24 “But when a righteous one turns away from his righteousness and does unrighteousness, according to all the abominations that the wrong one has done, shall he live? All his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered. For his trespass which he has committed, and for his sin which he has committed, for them he shall die. Doesn’t sound very Calvanistic right here does it?

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Set-apart Spirit,
Heb 6:5 and have tasted the good Word of Elohim and the powers of the age to come,
Heb 6:6 and fall away, to renew them again to repentance – having impaled for themselves the Son of Elohim again, and put Him to open shame. Kind of does away with “once saved always saved, huh?

Rev 17:4 And the woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup filled with abominations and the filthiness of her whoring,b Footnote: b Jer_51:7.
Rev 17:5 and upon her forehead a name written, a secret: BAḆEL THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE WHORES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

According to some accounting there are 33,000 or 44,000 Protestant whores, also called denominations, of the Roman Catholic Church. We used to feel sorry for the poor deluded Catholics, kneeling in front of statues of false gods and all the other rigamarole of the Catholic doctrine, not thinking twice that we kept Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s day, St. Patrick’s Day, Good Friday, Sunday and other Catholic doctrines and teachings of the 7 Ecumenical Councils of the early Roman Catholic Church.

18 – Qehĕlathah – קְהֵלָתָה – Strong’s H6954 = assembly, congregation, to gather (together) it can also mean “to assemble for war or a conflict”. When we read “asssemble the Children of Yisra’el” or something similar the word(s) being used there is G4863/G4864 – συναγωγή – sunagōgē – Thayer Definition: 1) a bringing together, gathering (as of fruits), a contracting
2)in the NT, an assembling together of men, an assembly of men
3)synagogue
It is also one of the words used in the B’rit Hadasha for “church”. The other is G1577 – ἐκκλησία – ekklēsia – Thayer Definition: 1) a gathering of citizens called out from their homes into some public place, an assembly. In the TaNaKh we see the word Ekklesia used 91 times and the word sunagogue used about 489 times and in the B’rit Hadasha we see Ekklesia used 115 times and sunagogue used 118 times. Here is the big but, it is translated as synagogue 44 times only in the B’rit Hasasha as synagogue instead of “church” only when and if in the eyes of the translator it has a negative connotation. Maybe a touch of anti-semitism, perhaps?

The following was taken from the Online Etymology Dictionary: church (n.) Old English cirice, circe “place of assemblage set aside for Christian worship; the body of Christian believers, Christians collectively; ecclesiastical authority or power,” from Proto-Germanic *kirika (source also of Old Saxon kirika, Old Norse kirkja, Old Frisian zerke, Middle Dutch kerke, Dutch kerk, Old High German kirihha, German Kirche).

Circe – (/ˈsɜːrsiː/; Ancient Greek: Κίρκη, pronounced [kírkɛː]) is an enchantress ((You mean like a Whore in Revelation?))and a minor goddess in Greek mythology. She is either a daughter of the god Helios and the Oceanid nymph Perse or the goddess Hecate and Aeetes. Circe was renowned for her vast knowledge of potions and herbs((Like we see in Rev. 9:21 or 18:23?)). Through the use of these and a magic wand or staff, she would transform her enemies, or those who offended her, into animals.
((In Homer’s Odyssey when Odysseus visits her island of Aeaea she changes his crew into swine.))

Just one more thought on Qahelathah; this probably where the rebellion of Qorah took place.

19 – Mount Shafer – Guys, I’m speaking directly to you, there are 2 Hebrew words that you want to learn: ahavah = love and then; Shafar = beautiful. H2022 – הר – har – BDB Definition: 1) hill, mountain, hill country, mount. H8234 – שׁפר – shepher – BDB Definition: Shapher = “beauty”. When you speak to/about your bride you want to use the root word for “shafer” which is “shafar” – H8233 which literally means “Glistening beauty”. This is the beauty that best describes “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. This is Bridal language which speaks of a coming marriage. Imagine guys trying to describe your future bride to your friends and family, your coworkers you want to use this word, not just beauty but, beauty so bright it almost hurts your eyes: Mat 17:1 And after six days יהושע took Kěpha, and Ya‛aqoḇ, and Yoḥanan his brother, and brought them up on a high mountain by themselves,
Mat 17:2 and He was transformed before them, and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as the light.

Mar_9:3 And His garments became glittering, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth is able to whiten.

20 – Haradah – H2732 – חרדה – chărâdâh – BDB Definition: Haradah = “fear”: Exo 20:18 And all the people saw the thunders, the lightning flashes, the voice of the shophar, and the mountain smoking. And the people saw it, and they trembled and stood at a distance,
Yep, this is knee knocking fear. What is the worst that man can do to us? Kill us? Torture us? YHVH can condemn us: Mat_10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the being. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both being and body in GěHinnom.

21 – Maqheloth – H4722 – מקהלת – maqhêlôth – BDB Definition: Makheloth = “place of assembly”. What is the root word here? When do we gather together? When we fear Elohim: Psa 68:26 Bless Elohim in the assemblies, יהוה, from the fountain of Yisra’ěl.

22 – Takhath – H8480 – תּחת – tachath – BDB Definition: Tahath = “station”, “under the authority of”, “in subjection to”: Mat 28:18 And יהושע came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Mat 28:19 “Therefore, go and make taught ones of all the nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit,

23 – Terah – H8646 – תּרח – terach – BDB Definition: Tarah = “delay”; father of Abraham; “old fool” or wild goat. Terah is related to the word “rotah” H7570 – to boil, irate, boiling: Gen 11:31 And Teraḥ took his son Aḇram and his grandson Lot, son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Aḇram’s wife, and they went out with them from Ur-kasdim to go to the land of Kena‛an. And they came to Ḥaran and dwelt there.
I believe that a call went out to Eber and he did not obey his calling, then Terah received a calling and started to obey but arrived in the beautiful land of Haran and decided to “settle” for less than he was called to do. He delayed and YHVH grew irate with him and then called Abram to complete the calling of his father, the old goat, Terah and Abram was “almost” obedient. Why do I say almost? Why was YHVH “irate” at this time? In other words, what was man doing to make YHVH angry?

24 – Mithqah – H4989 – מתקה – mithqâh – BDB Definition: Mithcah = “sweetness”. About this station all I can think of is the sweetness of water when your throat is parched and dry. The sweetness of the Living Water. Mithqah is a word used in direct relation to a sacrifice: Exo_29:25 “Then you shall take them from their hands and burn them on the slaughter-place as an ascending offering, as a sweet fragrance before יהוה. It is an offering made by fire to יהוה.
What is so sweet about the smell of burning flesh?

25 – H2832 – חשׁמנה – chashmônâh – BDB Definition: Hashmonah = “fatness”. Please don’t think of this word in the light of our modern English understanding of this word. It literally means “the best”. You’ve heard, “you put your best foot forward”. You send your best people as ambassadors to other nations. It is in this light that the word can also mean Ambassador or envoy: 2Co 5:20 Therefore we are envoys on behalf of Messiah, as though Elohim were pleading through us. We beg, on behalf of Messiah: Be restored to favour with Elohim.

26 – H4149 – מסרות / מוסרה – môsêrâh / môserôth – BDB Definition: Mosera or Moseroth = “bonds”, admonition, correction or discipline: Pro 3:11 My son, do not despise the discipline of יהוה, And do not loathe His reproof;

Psa 94:12 Blessed is the man You discipline, O Yah, And instruct out of Your Torah,

27 – H1142 – בּני יעקן – benêy ya‛ăqân – BDB Definition: Bene-jaakan = “sons of twisting”: Hab 1:4 Therefore the Torah ceases, and right-ruling never goes forth. For the wrong hem in the righteous, so that right-ruling comes out twisted.

2Pe 3:14 So then, beloved ones, looking forward to this, do your utmost to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,
2Pe 3:15 and reckon the patience of our Master as deliverance, as also our beloved brother Sha’ul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him,
2Pe 3:16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them concerning these matters, in which some are hard to understand,c which those who are untaught and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do also the other Scriptures.

28 – H2735 – חר הגּדגּד – chôr haġgidgâd – BDB Definition: Hor-hagidgad = “cavern of Gidgad”. This is what is known today as Petra or, a.k.a. The cleft of the cleft of the Rock: Exo_33:22 “And it shall be, while My esteem passes by, that I shall put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand while I pass by.
In a broader sense it is a very intimate place that YHVH places us so that He can be near to us.

29 – H3193 – יטבתה – yoṭbâthâh – BDB Definition: Jotbath or Jotbathah = “pleasantness”: Deu 10:7 From there they set out to Guḏgoḏah, and from Guḏgoḏah to Yotḇathah, a land of rivers of water.
Deu 10:8 At that time יהוה separated the tribe of Lěwi to bear the ark of the covenant of יהוה, to stand before יהוה, to serve Him, and to bless in His Name, to this day.
Imagine how beautiful that must have looked. Isa 41:17 “When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongues have failed for thirst, I, יהוה, do answer them; I, the Elohim of Yisra’ěl, do not forsake them.
Isa 41:18 “I open rivers on bare hills, and fountains in the midst of valleys; I make a wilderness become a pool of water, and a dry land springs of water.

30 – Abronah – H5684 – עברנה – ‛ebrônâh – BDB Definition: Ebronah = “passage”, way or right of way; Jer_31:9 “With weeping they shall come, and with their prayers I bring them. I shall make them walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they do not stumble. For I shall be a Father to Yisra’ěl, and Ephrayim – he is My first-born.

31 – H6100 – עצין גּבר / עציון גּבר – ‛etsyôn geber / ‛etsyôn geber – BDB Definition: Ezion-geber = “backbone of a man”. What does the backbone of a man do? This location is the present day city of Eilat where there were huge copper smelting furnaces which became the backbone of the Israelite economy.

32 – H6946 – קדשׁ – qâdêsh – BDB Definition: Kadesh = “holy”; set-apart. Many things happened here; Miriam died, Mosheh struck the Rock instead of speaking to it; the Children of Yisra’el called it evil;
Isa_5:20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

33 – H2023 – הר – hôr – BDB Definition: Hor = “mountain”. Literally Mount Hor means Mount Mountain. It is the highest of the sandstone mountains of Edom and the spot where Aharon died.

34 – H6758 – צלמנה – tsalmônâh – BDB Definition: Zalmonah = “shady”, shadow: Psa 23:4 When I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil. For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

35 – H6325 – פּוּנן – pûnôn – BDB Definition: Punon = “darkness”: A lot happened here and much of it was bad. They had gone from being ing the shadows to living in complete darkness. They grumbled here and hated the Bread that gave them life. There was a plague of fiery serpents. Rom 13:12 The night is far advanced, the day has come near. So let us put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

36 – H88 – אבת – ‘ôbôth – BDB Definition: Oboth = “waterskins”. Here is an exercise put punon and oboth together and tell me what you have.

37 – H5863 – עיּי העברים – ‛iyêy hâ̇‛ăbârı̂ym – BDB Definition: Ije-abarim = “ruins of Abarim”; the ruins of passers. Amo 9:11 “In that day I shall raise up the Booth of Dawiḏ which has fallen down. And I shall repair its breaches and raise up its ruins. And I shall build it as in the days of old,

38 – H1769 – דּיבן / דּיבון – dı̂ybôn– BDB Definition: Dibon = “wasting” and Gad means troop but put together it can have the connotation of “wasting a fortune”. Have you ever done that?

39 – H5963 – עלמן דּבלתימה – ‛almôn diblâthâymâh – BDB Definition: Almon-diblathaim = “concealing the two cakes”. What kind of cakes? Fig cakes, figs pressed together to form a cake. Sweetness, goodness. What are our 2 cakes we are to possess?

40 – H5682 – עברים – ‛ăbârı̂ym – BDB Definition: Abarim = “regions beyond”. Look at the context of this stop because there is a message here: mountains of Aḇarim, before Neḇo. Nebo was a Babylonian god equal to Hermes where we get the “religious” term hermeneutics.

41 – H4124 – מואב – mô’âb – BDB Definition: Moab = “of his father”. At this stop we have to ask ourselves, “Who is our Father?”

42 – H1020 – בּית הישׁימות – bêyth hȧyeshı̂ymôth – BDB Definition: Beth-jesimoth = “house of the desolation”
Here is another important 42; it is 42 generations from Abraham to Yeshu’a

Please notice my notes in black parenthesis:
The exalted Father laughs at the enemy, the Supplanter. (Remember our study of Revelation and looking at the prophecy of the coming of Messiah? Where does the study of Revelation begin? Right, Genesis and, in this case Bereshith 3:15 Crush head means – to take away authority (Mat. 28:18), crush or grab heel means to supplant (2 Thes. 2:9-12))

The One who is praised breaks through the wall of great height (deception), our noble Kinsman Redeemer, the prophet spoken of and who is clothed with strength, has come to serve.

The Beloved One is the Prince of Peace, who enlarges His people (sets them free) and says,“Yah is my Father”and He is the Healer who judges and He is the One who raises up and exalts. Our strength is Yah because Yah is perfect and He has taken hold of His people (for a possession). YHVH is our strength and causes us to forget (our troubles) and He is the Master Builder and Yah heals us and, establishes and appoints us (to His Kingdom).

El was asked about the exiles sown in Babel and has answered (us) because our Father is Majestic and He is the Lamp who raises up and helps and in righteousness He raises (His people) up and He is Greatly to be praised, for El has helped us with a gift (of life) to Ya’aqob, His Allotted Inheritance which He Increases through His Salvation, Yehoshua Messiah.

If a name used “I”, “me” or a singular pronoun I changed it to a plural to include us all. Is it a perfect translation? No! It is as close as I can get. Many o the notes that I added were just to complete the already obvious thought.

The wall of great height was built around us by Hasatan. What we want, and get from YHVH, is a “hedge of protection” but a wall obstructs our vision and keeps us from seeing the Truth. It makes us feel safe in doctrines and traditions handed down from our fathers (Jer. 16:19). ((Mark Twain said “it is easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.”)) That is why if you have a wall of great height you must have a dependable Watchman on the wall (Eze. 33:2-7) and unfortunately our watchmen have gone to sleep, lulled into a false sense of security behind the high wall of man’s doctrine rather than the Word of YHVH.
