Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 25

I am setting myself up for a big fall if I don’t show you the First and Second Coming of our Messiah in this chapter, which I think I can do but there is even more here as well. When I first started reading this chapter one thing that piqued my curiosity was the phrase בְּהַר סִינַי which is not unusual – bhar Sinai – on Mt. Sinai, which is where they should be for the whole Book of Wayyiqra but, this is the first time it has been reiterated since Chapter 7 verse 38, before Nadab and Abihu’s catastrophe. It also made me think of YHVH’s mountains in Scripture:

  1. Eden
  2. Moriah
  3. Sinai (In the Wilderness of Sin)
  4. Hermon
  5. Tsephon (Zaphon)
  6. Zion
  7. Armageddon

but, I think that is just how weird my mind is. As for Hermon, it was not a “mountain of Elohim until Yeshua claimed it in the B’rit Hadasha and it was prophecied in Psalms 68 verse 15 but called Bashan there for a reason. This made my heart skip a beat but this was not the direction it pulled me toward.

Instead of going into the mountain it immediately goes into the sabbatical year and we have discussed the sabbatical year quite a bit. I was tickled, thrilled excited, ever how you want to say it, that we saw the sabbatical year before it arrived and established ourselves in the Word so that we could properly observe it. I think we all learned a lot and received many blessings as a result.

We are commanded to work for 6 days and rest for one so, our obedience to YHVH’s commands are shown to the world by action, work, and inaction, rest. The rest of the “world” takes notice when refuse to do what the world does on Shabbat.

Verses 3-7 – Unlike the Sabbath the sabbatical year if not for us but, it is for the land. The catch is that the land cannot rest if we don’t allow it.

Lev. 23:3b You do no work, it is a Sabbath to יהוה in all your dwellings.

Lev. 25:2b ‘When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall observe a Sabbath to יהוה.

Remember, we discussed this a little last night: Psa 115:16 The heavens are the heavens of יהוה; But He has given the earth to the children of men.

This presents a challenge because the land cannot be obedient to YHVH unless we are. This is the first point that stood out to me. We will talk more about this next Shabbat in Chapter 26.

In trying to be obedient to this command we learned a lot, or at least, I did. Lev 25:6a ‘And the Sabbath of the land shall be to you for food, for you and your servant,

This meant we had to plan what we were going to eat for an entire year+. But even that was a joy in that it made me aware of what I ate and how much. I had to build a “Sabbatical cabinet or pantry” specifically for putting aware extra food for the year. In ancient Yisra’el the Children of Yisra’el had to build “storehouses” in order to store their food. Leading up to the month of Aviv going into the sabbatical year on Monday nights and Wednesday nights a lot of our discussions were about our preparations.

Verse 8 – This is the 7 x 7 system of YHVH’s counting cycle. It is why I changed the tying of my tzitzit to my current way of tying them. I called I, for myself, the Shavuot system of counting:

50 = Shavuot is the first day of the week after observing 7 weekly sabbaths. Now, it is slightly different. Instead of having a 50th day we now have a 50th year and once we realize this is the key to unlocking many of YHVH’s promises and prophecies we now realize how far off of the truth that the church really i, i. e. Bereshith 6:3. We now understood that this did not limit mankind to living to be 120 years old but limited mankind to 120 of these cycles on the Earth. In counting we saw that the first 50 cycles brought the Children of Yisra’el to become a people: Deu_14:2 for you are a set-apart people to יהוה your Elohim, and יהוה has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

Deu_14:21 “Do not eat whatever dies of itself. Give it to the stranger who is within your gates, to eat it, or sell it to a foreigner. For you are a set-apart people to יהוה your Elohim. Do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk.

So, from this time on, until the end is just 70 cycles and we find that reflected in Dan 9:24 “Seventy weeks are decreed for your people and for your set-apart city, to put an end to the transgression, and to seal up sins, and to cover crookedness, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint the Most Set-apart.

Now we know why there is still transgression in the world, sin, and crookedness and why we do not have everlasting righteousness right now in the world. Just look at the election SNAFU if you don’t believe me. That is a graduate level lesson in transgression, sin, crookedness and unrighteousness as anything I can think of in my short lifetime. We have all done the math and we know where this goes.

Verse 9 – The last mathematical Yobel was Aviv of 1996 which began the 120th Yobel/Jubilee Cycle. But there was no Jubilee observed by mankind and as a result what do we hear today, “We need a debt Jubilee” or “we need a reset” or “the great reset is coming” or if you remember just a few years ago “a shemitah is coming”.

Because mankind thought he was in charge and could do whatever he wanted the world is sick and will find no relief for several more years. More on that next Shabbat. The one point I want to make about this situation is that we are dead center, as of Yom Teruah (this is very important and I will show you why in just a little bit) in the center of the 120th Jubilee/Yobel Cycle. To say it another way, we are in the midst of the 120th Scriptural Week.

I said all of this to get to this point: Lev 25:9 ‘You shall then sound a shophar-sound on the tenth day of the seventh new moon, on Yom haKippurim cause a shophar to sound through all your land.

Do you notice what is wrong? I wanted to mention this last week when we read Chapter 89 of Psalms and quite frankly I was excited by all the discussion and just forgot. In the greatest book of prophecy in Scripture we have one more prophecy: Psa_89:15 Blessed are the people Who know the sounding! They walk, O יהוה, in the light of Your face.

Check it out. The word used here is Teruah: H8643 – תְּרוּעָה – terû‛âh – ter-oo-aw’ – From H7321; clamor, that is, acclamation of joy or a battle cry; especially clangor of trumpets, as an alarum: – alarm, blow (-ing) (of, the) (trumpets), joy, jubile, loud noise, rejoicing, shout (-ing), (high, joyful) sound (-ing).

This is on Yom Kippur, the most solemn day of the year. What gives?

In the 49th year of the cycle, on the tenth day there is a “teruah”. Why? We just had a “Teruah” on Yom Teruah. Why do we need another one? This is where I get goose bumps but they are more like ostrich bumps: Rev_2:10 “Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. See, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, in order to try you, and you shall have pressure ten days. Be trustworthy until death, and I shall give you the crown of life.

Verse 10 – 15 – On Yom Kippur, ten days after Yom Teruah, there is to be the Shofar of the Yobel blown because we “return to our possession.” Not out possessions but our possession.

Exo_19:5 ‘And now, if you diligently obey My voice, and shall guard My covenant, then you shall be My treasured possession above all the peoples – for all the earth is Mine –

Deu_7:6 “For you are a set-apart people to יהוה your Elohim. יהוה your Elohim has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples on the face of the earth.

Deu_14:2 for you are a set-apart people to יהוה your Elohim, and יהוה has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

Deu_26:18 “And יהוה has caused you to proclaim today to be His people, a treasured possession, as He has spoken to you, and to guard all His commands,

A few years ago Jim Spiers brought up an excellent question which I am so glad he did because the answer shows us the Grandeur or Majesty of our Creator. Yeshua came as a man and died for us so that He might REDEEM us out of Egypt/world/4th beast. Now, He will come again to ATONE for our sins and we will be His Bride, His POSSESSION.

To answer your question before you ask it; Yes, I know it also means that we get our family’s allotment of land back from whomever it was sold. But what else happens? There is a release. This is not about the 7th year or the 7th of seven years, it is about the 7th Millenium. That is why we find this big clue in the gospel to the Hebrews: Heb 4:1 Therefore, since a promise remains of entering into His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.

Heb 4:2 For indeed the Good News was brought to us as well as to them, but the word which they heard did not profit them, not having been mixed with belief in those who heard it.

Heb 4:3 For we who have believed do enter into that rest, as He has said, “As I swore in My wrath, if they shall enter into My rest…” (Psa_95:11) And yet His works have come into being from the foundation of the world.

Heb 4:4 For somewhere He has said thus about the seventh day, “And Elohim rested on the seventh day from all His works,” (Gen_2:2).

Heb 4:5 and in this again, “If they shall enter into My rest…” (Psa_95:11).

Heb 4:6 Since then it remains for some to enter into it, and those who formerly received the Good News did not enter in because of disobedience,

Heb 4:7 He again defines a certain day, “Today,” saying through Dawiḏ so much later, as it has been said, “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” Psa_95:7-8.

Heb 4:8 For if Yehoshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.

Heb 4:9 So there remains a Sabbath-keeping for the people of Elohim. ((All Sabbaths, even 7×7))

Mat_18:21 Then Kěpha came to Him and said, “Master, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

Mat_18:22 יהושע said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Verses 16-55 – We will discuss most of this in a general way because it is very important to us to understand why Yeshua did and said what He did, when He did.

Mat_20:27 “And whoever wishes to be first among you, let him be your servant,

Mat_23:11 “But the greatest among you shall be your servant.

Mat_24:45 “Who then is a trustworthy and wise servant, whom his master set over his household, to give them food in season?

Mar_10:24 And the taught ones were astonished at His words. And יהושע responding, said to them again, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter into the reign of Elohim!

Joh_3:29 “He that has the bride is the bridegroom, but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the voice of the bridegroom. So this joy of mine is complete.

Joh_11:11 He said this, and after that He said to them, “Our friend El‛azar has fallen asleep, but I am going there, to wake him up.”

Mat_28:10 Then יהושע said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go, report to My brothers, to go to Galil, and they shall see Me there.”

Mar 3:34 And looking about on those sitting round Him, He said, “See My mother and My brothers!

Mar 3:35 “For whoever does the desire of Elohim is My brother and My sister and mother.”

Luk_8:21 And He answering, said to them, “My mother and My brothers are those who are hearing the Word of Elohim and doing it.”

Joh_20:17 יהושע said to her, “Do not hold on to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My Elohim and your Elohim.’ ”

His disciples were called or likened to servants, then they became children, relatives but untrained and unskilled in the Word, then progressed to “friends”, adults and equals and finally to brothers and sisters and mothers. Why is this important? Lev 25:47 ‘Now when a sojourner or a settler with you becomes rich, and your brother with him becomes poor, and sells himself to the settler or sojourner with you, or to a member of the sojourner’s clan,

Lev 25:48 after he has been sold, there is a right of redemption to him – one of his brothers does redeem him,

How is he redeemed? Lev 25:51  ‘If there are yet many years, according to them he repays the price of his redemption, from the silver of his purchase.

For how much was he purchased?

Mat_26:15 and said, “What would you give me to deliver Him to you?” And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver.

The price of a servant is: Exo_21:32 “If the ox gores a male or female servant, he is to give to their master thirty sheqels of silver, and the ox is stoned.

Because Yeshua is our Brother, not our friend, nor servant, nor father, He has the right of redemption. Our Father redeemed us out of the house of bondage, slavery but we sold ourselves back into slavery. See how much this applies to us: Luk 15:11 And He said, “A certain man had two sons, ((Judah and Israel))

Luk 15:12 and the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods falling to me.’ And he divided his livelihood between them. ((He is asking for his inheritance and by doing this he is declaring his father dead.))

Luk 15:13 “And not many days after, the younger son, having gathered all together, went away to a distant country, ((Departed from Torah)) and there wasted his goods with loose living. ((Lawlessness))

Luk 15:14 “And when he had spent all, there arose a severe scarcity of food throughout that land, ((There were two years back to back without a harvest Year 49 and 50. More about this later.)) and he began to be in need. ((Realizes his sin.))

Luk 15:15 “And he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him to his fields to feed pigs. ((Served the gods of that country))

Luk 15:16 “And he was longing to fill his stomach with the pods which the pigs were eating, and no one gave to him. ((Acquire knowledge))

Luk 15:17 “But having come to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I am perishing with hunger! ((Torah, the Bread of Life.))

Luk 15:18 Having risen, I shall go to my father and say to him, “Father, I have sinned against the heaven, and before you,

Luk 15:19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ((Realizing our sin and repenting from it.))

Luk 15:20 “And having risen, he went to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

Luk 15:21 “And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against the heaven, and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

Luk 15:22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. ((Restores us as His Children))

Luk 15:23 And bring the fattened calf here and slaughter it, and let us eat and rejoice,

Luk 15:24 because this son of mine was dead and is alive again, and he was lost and is found.’ And they began to rejoice. ((A feast is given in our honor. Hint Hint.))

Luk 15:25 “And his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing.

Luk 15:26 “And having called one of the servants he asked what this meant.

Luk 15:27 “And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has slaughtered the fattened calf because he received him back in health.’

Luk 15:28 “And he was wroth and would not go in. So his father came out and pleaded with him.

Luk 15:29 “And answering, he said to his father, ‘See, these many years I have been serving you, and I have never transgressed a command of yours, but to me you have never given a young goat, so I could rejoice with my friends. ((Jealousy – Romans 11:11))

Luk 15:30 But when this son of yours (( Essentially declaring him a bastard))  came, who has devoured your livelihood with whores,((False gods)) you slaughtered the fattened calf for him.’ ((Gave the ultimate sacrifice.))

Luk 15:31 “Then he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all I have is yours. ((You have my Torah but you don’t keep it or use it to unlock the Kingdom.))

Luk 15:32 And we had to rejoice and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive, and was lost and is found.’ ”

Why did Yeshua come?

Mat_15:24 And He answering, said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ěl.”

I commented that the severe scarcity of food in the land was because of the 49th year and the Yobel. In Year 48, if we guard His commands and do them, YHVH will give us 3 years worth of food to carry us into the second year of the next Jubilee cycle, year 50 being year 1 of the next cycle. Just like Shavuot is the 50th day of counting it is the First Day of the next week. Why do I say this? Look at the word Yobel. It is H3104 which comes from the root word H2986 – yawbal – to bring in, bring forth, carry in, to carry, to flow, to lead, to harvest.

In the 49th and 50th years there is no harvest, nor reaping, no sowing so, there is no food in the land but what is growing on it own but those keeping the Yobel already have enough food brought in for 3 years, to last until the next harvest.

There is much more to discuss and this is just the beginning.

Mat_18:21 Then Kěpha came to Him and said, “Master, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

Mat_18:22 יהושע said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

 

Verses 16-55 – We will discuss most of this in a general way because it is very important to us to understand why Yeshu’a did and said what He did, when He did.

Mat_20:27 “And whoever wishes to be first among you, let him be your servant,

 

Mat_23:11 “But the greatest among you shall be your servant.

 

Mat_24:45 “Who then is a trustworthy and wise servant, whom his master set over his household, to give them food in season?

 

Mar_10:24 And the taught ones were astonished at His words. And יהושע responding, said to them again, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter into the reign of Elohim!

 

Joh_3:29 “He that has the bride is the bridegroom, but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the voice of the bridegroom. So this joy of mine is complete.

 

Joh_11:11 He said this, and after that He said to them, “Our friend El‛azar has fallen asleep, but I am going there, to wake him up.”

 

Mat_28:10 Then יהושע said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go, report to My brothers, to go to Galil, and they shall see Me there.”

 

Mar 3:34 And looking about on those sitting round Him, He said, “See My mother and My brothers!

Mar 3:35 “For whoever does the desire of Elohim is My brother and My sister and mother.”

 

Luk_8:21 And He answering, said to them, “My mother and My brothers are those who are hearing the Word of Elohim and doing it.”

 

Joh_20:17 יהושע said to her, “Do not hold on to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My Elohim and your Elohim.’ ”

 

His disciples were called or likened to servants, then they became children, relatives but untrained and unskilled in the Word, then progressed to “friends”, adults and equals and finally to brothers and sisters and mothers. Why is this important? Lev 25:47 ‘Now when a sojourner or a settler with you becomes rich, and your brother with him becomes poor, and sells himself to the settler or sojourner with you, or to a member of the sojourner’s clan,

Lev 25:48 after he has been sold, there is a right of redemption to him – one of his brothers does redeem him,

 

How is he redeemed? Lev 25:51 ‘If there are yet many years, according to them he repays the price of his redemption, from the silver of his purchase.

 

For how much was he purchased?

Mat_26:15 and said, “What would you give me to deliver Him to you?” And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver.

 

The price of a servant is: Exo_21:32 “If the ox gores a male or female servant, he is to give to their master thirty sheqels of silver, and the ox is stoned.

 

Because Yeshu’a is our Brother, not our friend, nor servant, nor father, He has the right of redemption. Our Father redeemed us out of the house of bondage, slavery but we sold ourselves back into slavery. See how much this applies to us: Luk 15:11 And He said, “A certain man had two sons, ((Judah and Israel))

Luk 15:12 and the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods falling to me.’ And he divided his livelihood between them. ((He is asking for his inheritance and by doing this he is declaring his father dead.))

Luk 15:13 “And not many days after, the younger son, having gathered all together, went away to a distant country, ((Departed from Torah)) and there wasted his goods with loose living. ((Lawlessness))

Luk 15:14 “And when he had spent all, there arose a severe scarcity of food throughout that land, ((There were two years back to back without a harvest Year 49 and 50. More about this later.)) and he began to be in need. ((Realizes his sin.))

Luk 15:15 “And he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him to his fields to feed pigs. ((Served the gods of that country))

Luk 15:16 “And he was longing to fill his stomach with the pods which the pigs were eating, and no one gave to him. ((Acquire knowledge))

Luk 15:17 “But having come to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I am perishing with hunger! ((Torah, the Bread of Life.))

Luk 15:18 Having risen, I shall go to my father and say to him, “Father, I have sinned against the heaven, and before you,

Luk 15:19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ((Realizing our sin and repenting from it.))

Luk 15:20 “And having risen, he went to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

Luk 15:21 “And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against the heaven, and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

Luk 15:22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. ((Restores us as His Children))

Luk 15:23 And bring the fattened calf here and slaughter it, and let us eat and rejoice,

Luk 15:24 because this son of mine was dead and is alive again, and he was lost and is found.’ And they began to rejoice. ((A feast is given in our honor. Hint Hint.))

Luk 15:25 “And his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing.

Luk 15:26 “And having called one of the servants he asked what this meant.

Luk 15:27 “And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has slaughtered the fattened calf because he received him back in health.’

Luk 15:28 “And he was wroth and would not go in. So his father came out and pleaded with him.

Luk 15:29 “And answering, he said to his father, ‘See, these many years I have been serving you, and I have never transgressed a command of yours, but to me you have never given a young goat, so I could rejoice with my friends. ((Jealousy – Romans 11:11))

Luk 15:30 But when this son of yours (( Essentially declaring him a bastard))  came, who has devoured your livelihood with whores, ((False gods)) you slaughtered the fattened calf for him.’ ((Gave the ultimate sacrifice.))

Luk 15:31 “Then he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all I have is yours. ((You have my Torah but you don’t keep it or use it to unlock the Kingdom.))

Luk 15:32 And we had to rejoice and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive, and was lost and is found.’ ”

 

Why did Yeshu’a come?

Mat_15:24 And He answering, said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ěl.”

 

I commented that the severe scarcity of food in the land was because of the 49th year and the Yobel. In Year 48, if we guard His commands and do them, YHVH will give us 3 years worth of food to carry us into the second year of the next Jubilee cycle, year 50 being year 1 of the next cycle. Just like Shavuot is the 50th day of counting it is the First Day of the next week. Why do I say this? Look at the word Yobel. It is H3104 which comes from the root word H2986 – yawbal – to bring in, bring forth, carry in, to carry, to flow, to lead, to harvest.

 

2Ch 36:17 Therefore He brought against them the sovereign of the Kasdim, and he killed their young men with the sword in the House of their set-apart place, and had no compassion on young man or maiden, on the aged or the weak – He gave all into his hand.

2Ch 36:18 And all the utensils from the House of Elohim, great and small, and the treasures of the House of יהוה, and the treasures of the sovereign and of his leaders, all these he brought to Baḇel.

2Ch 36:19 And they burned the House of Elohim, and broke down the wall of Yerushalayim, and burned all its palaces with fire, and destroyed all its valuable utensils.

2Ch 36:20 And those who escaped from the sword he exiled to Baḇel, where they became servants to him and his sons until the reign of the reign of Persia,

2Ch 36:21 in order to fill the word of יהוה by the mouth of Yirmeyahu, until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths. As long as she lay waste she kept Sabbath, until seventy years were completed.

 

YHVH did this to His set-apart people because they did not let the land rest. What will He do to America for not letting the land rest?

 

In the 49th and 50th years there is no harvest, nor reaping, no sowing so, there is no food in the land but what is growing on it own but those keeping the Yobel already have enough food brought in for 3 years, to last until the next harvest.
