Out of this table of nations we need to look at a couple of things: the sons of Kena’an are primary the enemies of the Children of Yisra’el when they come into the Promised Land. Another important thing to consider is that the Amorites were giants (Amos 2:9). Many of the sons of Ham are also the enemies of Yisra’el in prophecy, especially Ezekiel. Also, with Nimrod, Ber. 10:8-9 we actually see a foreshadowing of the anti-Messiah. How?

Remember our past discussions of Ber. 18:26-32? Why did Abrham not go down further than 10? Because 10 = quorum. You must have 10 righteous men in order to have a righteous government, something America lacks today. But, what would happen if you had 10 unrighteous men or cities?

Nimrod builds and rules 10 cities:

Baḇel – בָּבֶל – Strong’s H894 – confusion (by mixing)

Ereḵ – אֶרֶךְ – Strong’s H751 – long

Akkaḏ- א כד – Strong’s H390 – subtle

Kalnĕh – כלְנֶה – Strong’s H3641 – fortress of Anu

Shinʽar – שִּנְעָר – Strong’s H8152 – country of two rivers

Ashshur – אֲשוּר – Strong’s H804 – a step

Ninewĕh – נִּינְוֵה – Strong’s H5210 – abode of Ninus

Reḥoḇoth Ir – רְחֹבֹת – Strong’s H7344 – broad or wide places or streets

Kelaḥ – כֶ לח – Strong’s H3625 – vigour

Resen – רֶסֶן – Strong’s H7449 – bridle

THE CONFUSION BY MIXING WOULD BE LONG AND SUBTLE, AS THE FORTRESS OF THE ENEMY THAT DWELLS BETWEEN THE TWO RIVERS PROVIDES A STEP TO THE HOUSE OF NINUS THAT LEADS MANY IN THE BROAD PATHS OF DESTRUCTION WITH GREAT VIGOUR IN BRIDLING THOSE THAT THEY CONFUSE!

Please notice that Babylon is nestled between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, often called the cradle of civilization or the Fertile Crescent. But what other city dwells between two rivers in prophecy?

Laodicea is located between the Asopus and Caprus Rivers.

“Abode of Ninus” or “House of Ninus” = House of Nimrod, the husband of Semiramis (his mother) and also credited as the mother of Tammuz. Who else does this sound like? Constantine, whose lifelong lover was his mother, Empress Helena. The same woman, who went to Israel and divined, using witchcraft, the “holy” sites in Israel. Coincidence?

What else do we know about Nimrod? “he began to be a mighty one on the earth.” H2490 – חלל – châlal – BDB Definition: 1) to profane, defile, pollute, desecrate, begin

Nimrod began to be worshipped instead of YHVH.

Nimrod was also called “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before יהוה.” (Shemoth 20:3) If you are “before” someone’s face or as we say “in their face” is that a good thing? No!

And, one more thing about Nimrod that is often missed. It is said, especially by the Greeks, that Nimrod was a centaur.

What is notable about the mention of Babel or Babylon?

Rev_14:8  And another messenger followed, saying, “Babel is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her whoring.”

Rev_16:19  And the great city became divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Baḇel was remembered before Elohim, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

Rev_17:5  and upon her forehead a name written, a secret: BABEL THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE WHORES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Rev_18:2  And he cried with a mighty voice, saying, “Babel the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, and a haunt for every unclean and hated bird,

Rev_18:10  standing at a distance for fear of her torture, saying, ‘Woe! Woe, the great city Babel, the mighty city, because your judgment has come in one hour!’

Rev_18:21  And one mighty messenger picked up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “With such a rush the great city Babel shall be thrown down, and shall not be found any more at all.

Babel is the great deceiver. Mat 24:24  “For false messiahs and false prophets shall arise, and they shall show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.

Mat 24:25  “See, I have forewarned you.

In the Catholic Church, only after death can someone be called a saint, even though while alive the person lived a saintly, holy life. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, for example, who was revered around the world by people of every religion, couldn’t be given the title of saint until after her death and only after a thorough investigation of her life and only after what the Church believes to be some undisputed miracles that took place through her intercession.

Saints recognized by the Roman Catholic Church must have worked miracles on Earth. i.e. St. Elmo. St. Elmo’s fire is named after St. Erasmus of Formia (also called St. Elmo, one of the two Italian names for St. Erasmus, the other being St. Erasmo), the patron saint of sailors. The phenomenon sometimes appeared on ships at sea during thunderstorms and was regarded by sailors with religious awe for its glowing ball of light, accounting for the name. Sailors may have considered St. Elmo’s fire as a good omen (as a sign of the presence of their patron saint) ((Wikipedia))

This chapter is much like Revelation 1. If we do not try to understand this chapter we will not understand later references and conflicts taking place not only in Torah but throughout history. This chapter is key into understanding “who hit John”.

Verse 8 – In this verse we are given a clue. It is a small clue but it does make an association with what happened with Noah and the curse of Kena’an because of Ham’s actions: Gen 9:20 And Noaḥ, a man of the soil, began and planted a vineyard.

Gen 10:8 And Kush brought forth Nimroḏ, he began to be a mighty one on the earth.

Kush is the grandson of Noah and the son of Ham. Last week we talked about the gravity of the sin the Ham committed against his parents, especially his mother. Ham was not cursed but Kena’an was cursed because of what Ham did. Why is began so important that I highlighted it? Watch: H2490 – חלל – châlal – BDB Definition: 1) to profane, defile, pollute, desecrate, begin

Nimrod began to profane the Name of YHVH. He made himself great as a “mighty man” = “gibborim”.

The difference between Praising YHVH and Profaning YHVH is a small small space, a gap. ((Think about it this way, what is a gate but a gap in the wall. I’ll show you what this means a little later.)). This small space is indicative of difference in truly worshipping YHVH and how not to worship Him. You may have all the best of intentions but if you do not worship Him as He outlines in His Instructions – Torah/Torot then you are actually profaning Him. It is that simple, yet serious. We walk a fine line, narrow in our service, praising and worshipping YHVH. He tells us repeatedly, do not worship Me as the pagans (nations) do their gods yet, it still happens and it happens to this day. Christmas = Equinox, also 7 days before the “new year” named for Janus, the two-headed Roman god who died 7 days before the new year and was revived by his lover Artemis, who drank a tea made from mistletoe and kissed him and transferred the liquid to his mouth and waited by his side for 7 days and he finally came back to life and this became January 1, a holy day in a pagan world. Anyone ever steal a kiss under mistletoe and wonder why?

Ever wonder why bunny rabbits and colored eggs are associated with Easter? Why the meal for Easter Sunday is a ham. Nimrod is the beginning of these traditions, worshipping the way you want to instead of worshipping YHVH the Way He tells you to. And, the difference between the two is just a tiny space. Do you see why the road, or way, that we travel is called the narrow way? See how narrow that gap is in the illustration above? Act 24:5 “For having found this man a plague, who stirs up dissension among all the Yehuḏim throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Natsarenes,(Followers of the Way)

Mat 7:12 “Therefore, whatever you wish men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Torah and the Prophets.

Mat 7:13 “Enter in through the narrow gate! Because the gate is wide – and the way is broad – that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in through it.

Mat 7:14 “Because the gate is narrow ((He might as well have said the “gap”)) and the way is hard pressed which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

There are 1.5 billion Catholics and 1.2 billion Protestants, is that a few? That is about 1/3 of the planet’s population.

Okay, sorry, I had a little OCD moment.

Verse 9 – Believe it or not this verse is a very important verse in end times prophecy but first let’s breakdown what is being said.: Gen 10:9 He was a mighty hunter before יהוה,

This is not a compliment. Exo 20:3 “You have no other mighty ones against My face.

H6440 – פּנה / פּנים – pânı̂ym / pâneh – BDB Definition: 1) face 1a) face, faces 1b) presence, person

1c) face (of seraphim or cherubim) 1d) face (of animals) 1e) face, surface (of ground) 1f) as adverb of loc/temp 1f1) before and behind, toward, in front of, forward, formerly, from beforetime, before

1g) with preposition 1g1) in front of, before, to the front of, in the presence of, in the face of, at the face or front of, from the presence of, from before, from before the face of

Gen 25:27 And the boys grew up. And Ěsaw became a man knowing how to hunt, a man of the field, while Ya‛aqoḇ was a complete man, dwelling in tents.

Gen 25:28 And Yitsḥaq loved Ěsaw because he ate of his wild game, but Riḇqah loved Ya‛aqoḇ.

Gen 21:20 And Elohim was with the boy, and he grew and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.

Gen 21:21 And he dwelt in the Wilderness of Paran, and his mother took a wife for him from the land of Mitsrayim.

Let me see, Nimrod was a mighty hunter, Esau was reknowned for his hunting ability and Yishma’el became an archer, a hunter: Jer 16:16 “See, I am sending for many fishermen,” declares יהוה, “and they shall fish them. And after that I shall send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.

Hey, I remember a Scripture about that: Mat 4:19 And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I shall make you fishers of men.”

So, who are the hunters? Who do Nimrod, Esau and Yishma’el represent? Interesting.

Verses 10-12 – The 10 Kingdoms of Nimrod:

Baḇel – בָּבֶל – Strong’s H894 – confusion (by mixing)

Ereḵ – אֶרֶךְ – Strong’s H751 – long

Akkaḏ- א כד – Strong’s H390 – subtle

Kalnĕh – כלְנֶה – Strong’s H3641 – fortress of Anu

Shinʽar – שִּנְעָר – Strong’s H8152 – country of two rivers

Ashshur – אֲשוּר – Strong’s H804 – a step

Ninewĕh – נִּינְוֵה – Strong’s H5210 – abode of Ninus

Reḥoḇoth Ir – רְחֹבֹת – Strong’s H7344 – broad or wide places or streets

Kelaḥ – כֶ לח – Strong’s H3625 – vigour

Resen – רֶסֶן – Strong’s H7449 – bridle

The Confusion, by mixing, is Long and Subtle, as the Fortress of the Enemy, between the Two Rivers, is a Step to the Abode of Ninus, with its Broad and Wide roads (destruction) and with Great Vigour it Controls, Bridles, the people.

I am sure that it is an accident that these words are used here, just like it is an accident that Daniel wrote this: Dan 7:24 And the ten horns are ten sovereigns from this reign. They shall rise, and another shall rise after them, and it is different from the first ones, and it humbles three sovereigns,

Dan 7:25 and it speaks words against the Most High, and it wears out the set-apart ones of the Most High, and it intends to change appointed times and law, and they are given into its hand for a time and times and half a time.

And here is another coincidence: Rev 17:12 “And the ten horns which you saw are ten sovereigns who have not yet received a reign, but receive authority as sovereigns with the beast for one hour.

10 = a quorum and in this case a quorum of evil.

Verse 21 – wait a minute. Why is ‘Eber mentioned before we see the geneology of  Shem? Who else is mentioned in that manner? Oh yeah, Kena’an. What is the significance of this?

Verse 32 – And These were the clans of the sons of Noah. Seventy different nations in Hebrew thought represent the entire world.

Ahavah vberakhot
